No sound I have a Sony Cybershot digital camera and there is no sound when I capture video...is there a way to turn it up or turn it on??

The camera should go off automatically when faulty. attempt to explore teh functions on the camera is discover the unique experience beyond power shut down requests. Have you made sure that the spekers are pluged in? if not, PLUG THEM IN! if they are, make sure the volume is ALL THE WAY UP. If its not, then TURN IT UP!!! if it is, then i have no idea. =) lol (sorry)

Go through the system menu of your camera. Though I don't know the cybershot: on all cameras I had and have there was / is a menu item "Shutter sound on/off"

1) Make sure that you're not using more than 4 GB memory stick pro duo with the camera. Then try to remove the memory stick and capture 2 images in the internal memory and turn OFF and turn ON the Camera and check. If the error message comes, its the issue with the Camera itself and requires service after resetting. to reset the Camera, select Initialize under Main Settings 1 menu under Settings. if the issue persists, the camera may require service
If its working fine, transfer all the images to the Computer and format the memory stick. Formatting will delete all the contents. If the issue persists, memory stick should be replaced.

It sounds like you have the same problem as changeing resolution, which I just answered.

I'm presuming you want the camera to capture a more detailed image, not just to make it bigger when you print it.

DSC-S500 cybershot doesn't have speaker onbaord. You need to transfer movie files in PC to hear voice/ sound.

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Sony should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following link for more info:
