HHHHMMM Never heard of goodmans But if its a 14" tv those are one sale for 69.00 in K-mart Well the 13 " is. Sounds like the vert output is bad or a capacitor in the vert out curcuit. good Luck

You're losing your high voltage to the picture tube. Have it checked at a repair shop. The voltages present on the tube will knock you on your a** if you're not careful.

This is a problem with the vertical circuit and can be as simple as poor solder connections within that circuit or defective parts. If you have no experience with soldering or TVs, this should go to a service shop. Expect a parts cost in the $30-$40 range for and IC +/or capacitors. If you'd like to attempt this yourself, please supply the exact make and model so I can post the parts required along with additional instructions. Please note that TVs contain potentially dangerous high voltages even when unplugged.

Yes there is a way to reduce a picture size. when you open your tv on the right of your card, there is a line transformer with so many inputs. the input you are using has much current- reduce the current on the put of your tv line transformer.

Sony 42inch tv picture has reduced itself to size of regulaur tv instead of wide screen. How can this be adjusted ?

There should a selection for the size picture your viewing. There is most likely a zoom selection as well.

TV Screen picture reduced to one quarter in size.

You may have a bad capacitor. Do you have horzontal lines near the top? What is the model#? And what year? But ,yes indeed there is a bad cap inside your TV.

Image too large for the screen

you need to replace filter capacitor from vertical section area and horizontal section area. i already encounter tha kind of problem and fix replacing vertical section capacitor.

If your a technician i would tell ya to go into the set and change a couple of choice capacitors and possibly the vertical output IC.. if your not a tech then you cant service this set by your self as there are no serviceable parts inside the set so you should really take the set in and good Luck!
