Question about Fisher DEIX2 Dryer

1 Answer

Fisher and Paykel electric top load dryer

I have to "trick" this dryer to make it work. It will tumble and dry if I use the 20 or 40 minute timed setting. If I go up to 80 minutes, it stops with the drum locked and beeps until I turn it off. To me it seems like the dryer stops when it gets too hot. The delicate setting is usually problem free; the denim setting will start beeping in under 40 minutes. We have cleaned the lint trap, checked the outside vent (it blows just fine). Anybody have an idea or solution? My husband can fix it if you can point us in the right direction.

Thank you! We cleaned it out last night and it was FULL of lint. I'll test it this weekend when I do laundry.

Dd you try to unscrew the larger lint trap underneath the lint cup collector. My serivce person showed me how to do this and after a year I cleaned it out and was surprised how much lint was caught in there. My dryer was not heating and drying quickly, this helped the problem.

Heating element will not shut off after drying. Top of machine is warm/hot all the time.

Pull the plug out of the outlet , wait 30 minutes and replug it. This may fix it. If it doesn't it sounds like the relay that operates the heater is faulty. Go to http://fisherpaykelparts.net/techhelp/fisher-paykel-top-load-dryers-us-models/ This forum will show you where the relay is located, check the posts regarding heaters, it should help.

Dryer tumbles, no heat

Fist thing to check is if the manual reset on the heater box has tripped. That dryer can be serviced from the front. Also, there is a heater upgrade kit that can be purchased from Fisher Paykel Parts that has several updated parts in it for the top load electric dryers.

There are several things that can cause the reset to pop out. You may have a lint build up behind the shroud where the lint bucket fits.

This is a complicated appliance. You may wish to obtain a service manual for it.
