System restores don't work too well. The virus/trojan has usually embedded itself beyond the restore, you're free to try it, however. If it doesn't work, I would suggest some anti-virus/spyware scanning software. Here are two, one for viruses/vulnerabilities/some spyware and one dedicated to spyware. Both are absolutely free. runs from your web browser (I would suggest using Internet Explorer). This is Ad-aware, it will remove the spyware on your computer. This one needs to be downloaded. If those do not work, then you have two choices: reformat the HDD (low-level format in some cases), or take it to a professional who can save your data and remove the trojan successfully. Additionally, you can try Googling the trojan by its name and you'll usually find removal instructions. Symantec and Microsoft have the most accurate methods.

Typing slow

Slow performance can be from many different problems. The keyboard may be fine but the PC may have a problem. Except for a wireless keyboard which may have a low battery or obstructed receiver problem.

First go to START / Programs / System Tools / System Restore. Select SET RESTORE POINT and give it a name. This will let you restore your system to the current condition if anything goes wrong.

Try downloading "CCleaner" from (it's FREE). Install it and let it clean up your Windows and your Registry. (You might de-select Cookies option to preserve your logins saved on your Internet browser) It will offer to save original Registry before cleaning it up. In most cases this will resolve slow performance from outdated Windows instructions and Registry errors.

Next go to My Computer / Right click on C drive (boot drive) and select Properties. Go to Tools and select Defrag Drive. If problem is serious you should also run Check Disk and select to make automatic repairs. These programs will take some time to run.

If the problem still persists, update and run your Anti-Virus software. If you do not have Anti-Virus software go to and select AVG Free from the right hand column. This is a very good Free Anti-Virus software.

Disclaimer: The programs I recommend are suggested because they are free and very easy for the computer novice to use. I have no financial interest in these programs. I recommend and use these programs in my computer repair business.

Error code 10. windows vista on HP dv9700 hp webcam

A code 10 is usually indicative of a device that is not recognized by the computer, this could mean that is has failed, has become dislodged from its connector or the drivers are no longer valid or have failed to the point where they do not point the system to the device. Try downloading new drivers for the device. If that fails, try to remove the keyboard and replace with same or newer and check all connections. Below is the link to the service manual.

Cursor moves diagonally by its self.

I've had this a work a number of times and it is usually a case of replacing the keyboard of the laptop. Its usually the pointing stick in the middle of the keyboard thats interfearing with your usual mouse motions. You can disable this usually by going in to the keyboard settings in control panel and disablign it in "pointing devices" This would resolve the issue without the need to replace the keyboard.

HAHAHA. This is old but i found out what the problem is. Hope this helps some people. All you have to do is press the illumination button at the top right of your keyboard until the keyboard backlighting is turned off and now the keyboard no longer randomly types.

sounds like its a optical mouse, and you are probably using it on a reflective surface ie plastic mousemat, glass or along that lines, you will probaby find out it works fine on wood, or a a solid surface that aint reflective or a gel mouse mat.. :-) all the best John
