Question about Actiontec (DHUSB00020C01)

1 Answer

My voice is not being heard

I connected the Actiontec Phone Wizard ( to my PC (via USB), to my phone POTS line (via RJ11 jack) and to my old landline phone (via RJ11 jack), and it all seems to work fine. When I pick up the phone and dial ##, the dial tone I hear switches to a "skype" dial tone, and when I dial a number, it routes it to Skypeout and the call connects. This is where the problem starts. I can hear the other party answer the phone, and their voice comes through clearly on my handset. When I speak into the handset, however, they cannot hear me. Although the sound output from Skype makes its way to my handset, my voice is not making its way back to skype because after about 15 seconds, Skype shows an on-screen message saying it is not receiving any sound input. I hope this is a software configuration problem. Any ideas?

Re: My voice is not being heard

Hi alwayes start chcking a problem from the end and back 1) check the MIC on your handset - connect it to something else and see if it works good... 2) check your output if there is any noise (voltage, other system....) if all is good then the problem is probeply in your COMP: check all audio configurations if that didnt help then its a hardware problem.... good luck

Limit or no conectivity problem

I understand that you are using the Windows Internet Connection Sharing to share your internet connection to your other computer.

If you don't have a router to share the connection then you are using Windows ICS connection.

When you enable ICS, the network adapter connected to the local area network is assigned a static IP address of

You can check this site for more information

You can try to connect the two computers first without the internet connection.

Example : PC A
You can set the IP addresses manually, just set the tcp/ip properties and from that area you can set the IP address manually.

And for PC B
You dont need to set the ip address for the gateway and dns since you are just testing the connection of the two computer.

They should belong to the same workgroup example HOME and set the computer name to PC1 and PC2.

You can right click MY COMPUTER then select PROPERTIES then you will able to see the computer name.

To start the wizard
Choose Control Panel from the Start menu.
Click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Set up or change your home or small office network.

IP address

connect the computer to the Voice terminal VT1005v( WAN port)<---PC and check the ip address on the computer which should be "192.168.102.X". Open the web interface of voice terminal ( type in " " in the address-bar of your internet browser ). you can see the Restore Factory Defaults button and click on it. So you can reset the device. After that, reboot the your whole network.

hope this will fix your problem

Landline phone

I gather you are using an IP phone. I would have to say that the only way to trouble shoot is to use a protocol analyzer. If you connect it within the IP path you will be able to see both ends of the call and determine if the call was received or not and if the other end is responding to your call. Your IP PBX might be the problem I would run a diagnostic on it and if it fails, I would suggest calling the manufacture to see if there are any tests you can run.

Installation Woes!

Did you try to install the software, restart and then attach the device? Its the only thing I can think of to try. Also, check on the internet for updated drivers. I hope this helps although I am not very sure if it will or not.
