Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

Mitsubishi 73 in HDTV Rear Projection screen is shifted to the right

I've had the TV since 2001 (New), never had a problem until I turned it on last night. It looks like I'm looking at a 3-D piture without 3-D glasses. It looks like I have a picture of a picture, but shifted to the right 2 inches.

Thank you for your assistance. Jeff

This is a common problem it is most likly the convergence circuit. Are you trying to repair this yourself? If so you will need to know how to use a meter and how to solder well. This can be done yourself for under $100. A good repairman is going to run you $300-$500. Let me know what way you want to go.

Try pressing power button for 10 seconds or until it turns off. Wait for 1 minute and turn it on again.

You have a chip that is overheating due to heatsink coumpound being dried up. You need to find that chip and heatsink and apply new compound to both parts.
