SOURCE: need operating instructions for RCA clock radio Mod. 5430

The instruction manual will not help you, because it doesn't address this problem head on.  You're having this problem because the time changed, and the clock has an automatic setting.    As long as the batteries are in the clock and it's plugged up, it automatically computes the time. I just discovered the solution.  Unplug the clock, take out the batteries and WAIT about an hour.  Plug it back up, and the time will flash, allowing you to change the time.  You do this with the button on the top back which says wake up 1 and wake up 2.  Push that button all the way to the right to the setting that looks like a little clock, then press the forward button on the top of the clock to set the correct time.  Then put your batteries in and you're good to go!  (til the time changes again:)  Good luck!

I recently purchased an Audiovox Clock Radio CR20 from the USA on a visit to that country. I am back in my home country India and started using the clock radio. I find that the clock is not keeping correct...

The reason of your problem is that your local mains frequency is 50 Hz and when you use 230V to 120V converter, this simple device can not convert frequency only the voltage. Your clock is synchronized to the mains frequency which is 50 Hz instead of 60 Hz and the clock goes slowly. It is late (60-50)/60 ---> 10 minutes in every hour.
I am sorry but I think your problem can not be fixed. ( It would be possible to convert the frequency but the cost of this kind of device would be higher than the value of this Audiovox)

Thanks.

Bose Wave Radio/CD clock running very slow. Now that I've moved it across the pacific ocean(US to NZ) the clock is suddenly running very slow, losing 10-15 minutes per hour while running on any...

My guess is that the clock in the radio is based off of the AC line frequency (not voltage). In the US the line frequency is 60hz (hertz). I'm guessing that the line frequency in NZ is 50hz, which would seem to explain that extreme amount of time loss. I would check with Bose, but I'm betting they make different 50hz models for export.

Sony ICF-C212 Clock Time Problem

that clock use LM8560 IC. if u live in a country with 50hz, u must close the jw11 (this make a jump betwen those pins 15 and 26). that enable the 50hz. left it open, when is 60hz.

You are right on, the clock is using the 50 hertz to keep time expecting it too be 60 hertz.

Mains frequency is lower

open the case and look at the clock ic.  find the datasheet on the internet. this usually involves placing a jumper to ground for 50Hz operation and opening a jumper for 60 Hz operation.

SOny Clock IC492 looses time

Dont think this model clock accuracy depends upon the supply frequency.
1. I have ICF C 318 with the same specification but works accurately (1 sencond) in 50 Hz.
2. there are some amazone complaints even from US (wherein 60 Hz exists)

3. Dont think a clock designer will depend on supply frequency. (many time, this varies even in a very good power network)

JCR-160 clock radio Clock running slow

The clock works off the frequency (hertz). In US the electrical wave frequency is 60HZ/sec and in India and many other countries 50HZ/sec. Hence, the clock slows down about 6 seconds or so every minute.
