I ve got 2 of these AEG Santos and BOTH have this fault,Currys service agents have been out 5 Times since October and they are still FAULTY.

they are coming out again next week to try again to fix both but i'm getting no joy only BUCK PASSING. The only way as I can see to safe guard you

food from defrosting is to put a electronic timer on the fridge/freezer to

switch it off and then on ONE MINUTE this will switch off the 3 lights and restart the unit if you program this to happen 3 time per 24 hours this should stop the unit from defrosting as it states in the user book that if the

door in not open goods will be ok for 12 hours. I KNOW THIS IS NOT THE ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM BUT IT MAY JUST KEEP YOU GOING TILL SOMEONE COMES UP WILL A FIX. I'm going to the office of fair trading next week if the next call out does not fix this problem for good as

Hi. I appear to have the same problem with the AEG Santo. Basically, the fridge does not go cold. The freezer functions well but the fridge does not go below room temp.

I just posted this solution on another question:

We have the same fridge, and I could not find my model either!

The label is hidden on the bottom of the top part on the left side, you need to take the veggie tray out to see it. I spent about 3 hours finding the model on the net, and in the manual it said where to look lol.

This mysterious model is the AEG SANTOS 3895-6 KG AKA S3895-6 KG productnumber 928405123-- last two digits can be 00-33.

We had the same problem, solution: press and hold the ON button for minimum of 3 seconds. The fridge switches off. Wait 10 seconds and repress and hold the same button. That´s the quick fix.

To make it go away completely switch off fridge, pull out plug, and thoroughly clean the air vents on the back below using compressed air. After this the problem went away permanently.

Good practice to airclean every 6 or 7 months. You can find the manual for the S3895-6 KG on

My AEG Santo freezer is leakin water on the floor every few days. There is also a build up of ice inside the bottom of the freezer, even though we very recently defrosted the freezer. This fridge/freezer...

try pulling out the fridge very slowly, any signs of hard resistance than stop. there should be a main water shut off back there. if still uncomfortable with this you can always shut the main water off to the house before trying. hope this helps.

AEG OKO Santo not sure how old There is a hum

The hum on the motor can be faulty compressor motor or a weak capacitor that makes the motor to move slowly. But If there is no cooling at all , before we go further we must confirm the first step of confirming the compressor and gas pressure. So shut off the fridge and leave it off while you clean and check the evaporator for frost. If frost is seen it is a good indication as the compressor is working with sufficient gas within.
Now after about 6 hours plug in the fridge to start. Observe cooling to happen in about one hour and ice to from under three hours
Earlier make sure that the thermostat was set to normal mode for freezer and fridge. If there is no ice formation we have a big issue as the compressor and gas must be checked out. If compressor is running check the pressure, get help to test gas pressure. If not you will need to fill up ,If gas pressure is good the possibility of the compressor being inefficient is high. In such a case you must take consensus to estimate and decide, if RPM of motor is low check capacitor.
However if Ice forms then observe the fridge for about 24 hours for cooling to continue and the fridge to cut off. If not the auto defrost timer, or the thermostat must be checked.
The ventilation fan that circulates the COLD air from the evaporator coils could get clogged with frost and so could be jammed. Also the wires to the fan can be worn out due to the frost. If so check if the defrost timer works to switch the heater to remove the frost. Also the check if the compressor is shut down by the timer /thermostat . If the heaters are not working, check continuity of the heaters.
So attempt to test using a multi-meter / clamp tester from the outside and make your observations so that we come to the solution.

Constant build up of water at the bottom of the fridge - what can I do to solve the problem

Check if the pipe or hose that supply water for the ice maker is not leaking. Look in the back of the fridge at the bottom part to see if frost is building up on the pipe then melting and putting water on the floor. Build up of frost on the line indicates low on freon or something is wrong with the fridge. It will still get cold but the frost will melt and put water on the floor.

Fridge freezer not keeping temp

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer2_bing.gif and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

AEG Santo Fridge 3774-6KA

Check the damper between the fridge and freezer. It may be broken or frozen open. If this happens and you have a water reservoir in the fridge then it could freeze and crack - leak and then flood your house... Shut off the water supply until you get the problem fixed.

AEG Santo 3778-8 KA Temperature Problem

hi tracy, think its possibly better getting a repair guy in as this fault is not streight forward. possibly a fault in the defrost circuit, or freezer fan not functioning, or possibly a leak in the system. all theese areas need testing equiptment.
