Re: Horizontal Line

Your problem is called a vertical sweep problem and is caused by a defective vertical output IC,a bad vertical output coupler capacitor, and/or the b+ from the flyback transformer feed resistor and the filter capacitor. You get a schematic and post it here and I'll show you what parts are the most common in this chassis. You can get a service manual from Sams photo Facts on line and downloadable. Good luck

Horizontal line

Dear Mark,

If you only have a horizontal line being displayed on your TV, it means that your TV set has a problem in its vertical deflection circuit. It will need to be sent to be repaired at an authorized repair shop or by a technician you trust for this service.

Hope it helps!

Tv has horizontal line in middle of screen, sanyo ds25390

hi if only a horizontal line across with no video anymore, you have bad either vertical ic or no dc supply b+( vertical ic ) or no output dc coming from the ic. if it is not totally a horizontal white line and you can see a video you must check leak or bulged capacitors at the vertical section near the vertical ic. hope this can help good luck.

Can I see the difference

Visually, there is very little difference to the eye of the average consumer between 720p and 1080. However, 720p can deliver a slightly smoother-looking image, due to the fact that lines and pixels are displayed in a consecutive pattern, rather than in an alternate pattern.your tv is display format is 720p and blu ray is 1080p. what happen is it will be scaled into 720p. old tv set format is 480p 720p represents 1,280 pixels displayed across the screen horizontally and 720 pixels down the screen vertically. This arrangement yields 720 horizontal lines on the screen, which are, in turn, displayed progressively, or each line displayed following another. 1080p, on the other hand, represents 1,080 horizontal lines displayed sequentially. This means all lines are displayed during the same pass. 1080p is the highest quality HD display format. 480p represents 720 pixels displayed across the screen horizontally and 480 pixels down the screen vertically. This arrangement yields 480 horizontal lines on the screen, which are, in turn, displayed progressively, or each line displayed following another.

Toshiba TV CX2789K Horizontal Line

Failure in the vertical deflection amplifier section. This is usualy from failed components, and sometimes cold solder connections. Most of the time, I found bad capacitors, and sometimes the output IC or transistors (depending on the model type) that have failed.

Take the set to a service center for an estimate. You may find it more feasible to buy a new set depending on the parts that failed and the time involved to do the work.

Horizontal Line

you have a vert sweep problem. Probably the vertical output Ic the B+ going to the vert out IC or in rare cases the deflection yolk could be bad but not likly.
