Question about LG 24 in. LD-12BS6 Stainless Steel Free-standing Dishwasher

Dishes don't get clean and don't dry

The dishes don't get clean and it is not drying at all even though jetdry is full.

First off I know what Jetdry does and right in the owners Manual it states that if the Jetdry dispenser is not full it will not dry. Second, you did not give me even a hint at a solution. All you said was it was serious. I could of told you that. The dishwasher is only 11/2 years old. We had problems with it last Sept. while it was still under warranty and they just about replaces all the inside parts. Pretty much looks like this dishwasher sucks and we should go after LG to get our money back. This dishwasher was not cheap.

Hi reesbag

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

You're question is why the dishes don't get clean and it is not drying at all even though jetdry is full?

To begin with "jetdry" does not dry your dishes, It is a product that you can choose to use if you have a problem with spots on the clean dishes when the dishwasher is done.
Your problem is serious! If still under warranty then you're covered. If not and it has some years on it, it doesn't pay to throw good money after bad. If it came with the house it will be better in the long run to replace it. If you choose to repair, this problem doesn't lend itself to home handyman and it is likely in this case that after paying a repairman to come out you'll end up buying new anyway.

That is exactly where i was going with my 'serious' comment. I apoligize, I thought i was being clear recomending warranty or repair man. This is not somrthing you can fix. I don't know where you bought it but the major retail outlets, who shall remain nameless, will usually bend over backwards to help a customer with a d/w that never worked right from the begining. With the really, really big out fit it's the squeeky wheel gets the oil. I hope this is the case for you because if you complain up the chain of command, even writting to the home office about unhappyness and how after years of spending tens of thousands of $ you would hate to take your bus. elsewhere. It depends where you bought it. I wish I had more for you but you really have a serious problem.

The vent is in the door and you need to remove the panel on the door. However, if you take the kick panel off the bottom, there should be a techincians guide attached to it and that shows all the tests etc that you can use to troubleshoot this.

My dishwasher does not always dry the dishes completely - even though I use the same cascade with each use.

The most important thing to getting the best drying from this energy efficient, water conserving dishwasher is keeping the rinse aid dispenser filled. In my part of the US, I only see a rinse aid called Jet Dry.

The Cascade is the detergent powder and will not help the dishes to get dry.

Note: Even with the rinse aid full, some plastics will still be wet.

Model # dwu7702aae has heat delay light coming on during cycle. Why?

Heater is used to both heat water during clean cycle and dry dishes after wash cycle. Most washers have either a separate switch for Heat or Dry for optional use, or some have the water heat and dish dry options built into cycle set options.

You can save money by turning off the Dish Dry option since it is a very in-efficient way to dry dishes. Instead, open the wishwasher door after washing cycle completes, just enough so fresh air can get into, and humid air can escape, dishwasher.

Water Heat option is only needed for dried food on dishes, and is never needed if dishes are either rised off before putting them in the dishwasher, or rinsed off inside the dishwaser with a Rinse cycle, if they are to stand for a time waiting for a full dishwasher for wash.

My bosch dishwasher will not dry the dishes

this dw to save energy works this way- the final rinse will reach a temp of 161 F . the dishes have to absorb this heat. when the cycle is complete the dishes become a heater in themselves radiating the heat they absorbed during the final 161 F heat. If you have any tupperware or plastic dishes in the unit they will not absorb heat therefore not radiate the 161 f temp need to dry all the dishes. try to avoid plastic items and they must always have jet dry. this is the european way of conserving energy. on the old ge or whirlpool they had electric element in the bottom that would bake the dishes dry ....not these..but they do save alot of energy.. it helps right after a cycle to crack the door open release all the steam from the unit

Maytag Quiet Series 300 Not drying dishes at all

Hi brookeroy

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your question is your Maytag is less than a year old in a new home. Your folks have a dishwasher either the same or similar and it dries the dishes and doesn't leave water on them. Our dishwasher leaves water on it like the dishwashers from when I was a kid. Lots of water and spots and have to basically prewash all my dishes. It there something I can do or should I try to find all the paperwork?

First try 'jetdry'. Then call for warranty repair. Your d/w should still be under warranty.

LG7810 will not dry dishes

THE DRY CYCLE HAS A PORT ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR WITH A BLOWER MOTOR. THE PORT SHOULD OPEN AND THE FAN MOTOR COME ON DURING THE DRY CYCLE TO EVACUATE THE STEAM FROM THE INTERIOR. THE PORT IS OPENED WITH A WAX MOTOR. IF IT FAILS, THE PORT WILL REMAIN CLOSED AND DRYING WILL NOT TAKE PLACE.
TO VERIFY OPERATION, WHEN THE DRY CYCLE STARTS,
WAIT ABOUT 2 MINUTES, THEN OPEN THE DOOR AND LOOK IN THE ROUND VENT ON THE INTERIOR OF THE DOOR. IT SHOULD BE OPENED. IT WILL SLOWLY CLOSE AS THE DOOR REMAINS OPEN. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE THIS ACTION.

Just bought a Bosch dishwasher and we were told that they have no heating mechanism to dry the dishes, which is why they are more energy efficient.  You are supposed to leave the door closed for at least one hour after the cycle is complete.  The heat that has built up inside during the wash cycle will dry the dishes.  It is also recommended to always use JetDry. If you follow this advice, the dishes will come out fine.
