BUT, I can clean the print heads and send a test page so the computer can see the printer.
Any suggestions?

You can access the User's Guide from your computer. Just click on Start > All Programs > Lexmark > View User's Guide.
If your printer keeps on printing the same document, there might be a lot of print jobs in your queue. You might have sent the same print jobs when you were getting the communication error. Just click on Start > Printers and Faxes > Double click on the Lexmark icon and clear the print jobs in the queue.
If you're frequently experiencing problems communicating with your Lexmark printer, if your printer is connected to your network, make sure that it's getting a good signal from the router. You might also want to update the firmware of your printer. Just go to http://bit.ly/ghfW8H to download the firmware update.
If you're able to print fine, try using our Lexmark Printer Home software to scan. To access that, on your computer, click on Start > All Programs > Lexmark > Lexmark Printer Home.
If you're also having problems printing, it could be there's a communication problem. You might want to reinstall the software for your Lexmark Pro205: http://bit.ly/sW3OnE
From time to time they will upgrade the computer software, so check to c if you have the right one for your operation system. And if you do just try install and reinstall the software again.
What is the model of your Lexmark printer? This will help us give you a more direct instruction on how to fix the problem you're currently experiencing. Meanwhile, you can try to do a deep clean cartridge/printhead function on your printer to clear the cartridge/printhead nozzles from possible clogs and dirt. If it's more on communication issue, a quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the
printer and/or rebooting the PC. Frequently, issues are caused simply by a
break in the signal sent from PC to printer or vice versa. Unplugging and
re-plugging the printer allows the small amount of on-board memory on the
printer to be cleared, with the result that the PC recognizes the machine
properly. Programs continuing to run in the background of the operating system
(OS) can cause the signal to be lost. Rebooting the PC ends all programs that
may be running and makes a 'clean' start, allowing the signal to be detected.
Make sure that you are inserting only genuine Lexmark cartridges in your printer. Removing then re-inserting the color cartridge into the printer is a quick to minor cartridge communication issues.
Make sure that your color cartridge still has substantial ink level for printing using the Lexmark Solution Center software on your computer.
Click Start > Programs > Lexmark X74-X75 > Lexmark X74-X75 Solution Center. Check the ink levels.
If color ink level is still good, then it probably just needs some cleaning. Print quality issues can be due to dirty or clogged print cartridge nozzles. From the Maintenance tab in the Lexmark X74-X75 Solution Center, click Clean print nozzles to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a test page. Try to print a color page again to verify that the problem with the blue color is fixed.
If the problem continues, try to insert a different known working color cartridge to identify if it's a faulty cartridge issue.
It could be the cartridges in the printer. Disconnect the printer from your computer. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges. Close the cover. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reinsert both cartridges. Reconnect the printer into your computer. Try to print again.
If that doesn't help, try to clean the cartridge nozzles using the Lexmark software on your computer.
Click Start > Programs or All Programs > Lexmark Z2400 Series
Click Maintenance > Clean Cartridges.
Click Print.
Follow the instructions on the computer screen.
If print quality has not improved, then wipe the cartridge nozzles using a slightly moistened soft cloth to clean it from possible dirt and clogs.
You can also reinstall the printer driver on your computer to repair any corrupted files necessary for printer communication and processes.
Your firewall could be blocking some printer communications. Make sure to allow full access to all Lexmark and printer communications in the program rules/permissions for your firewall. For more information on how to configure the settings for your firewall, visit the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/iNwkNs.
Try to print the wireless network settings page on your Lexmark X4650 to determine if your printer is still registered in your wireless network.

It could be a software issue. Try to uninstall the existing Lexmark Pro901 driver from your desktop pc by going to Start menu -> Programs -> Lexmark -> Pro900 Series -> Uninstall Lexmark Pro900 Series. Reboot pc when prompted.
Now, check your Windows 7 if it's running on 32-bit or 64-bit by going to the Start menu -> right-click on Computer -> Properties. Take note of the System Type.
To reinstall, download the Lexmark Pro900 Series driver using the links below:
