Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook

1 Answer

Internet connection i was connected 2days ago just fine. Now I cant get online at all. My laptop says I have a wireless connection "excellent signal" & when I plug the ethernet cable in it says I have a local area connection. I think it just a setting somewhere but Im not sure. What else would cause me to not get online if the there is nothing wrong with the internet provider? (browser issue, firewall, etc) I dont know how to check. I have done the obvious troubleshooting. Thanks

I have not been able to access internet since last week. When I start up acer 5100 it states internet connected but when I click on internet explorer it disconnects and states internet explorer cannot display the web page. Have checked cookies, and tried to contact AOL but they havent been of any use. They say I have to install and configure Netgear router via accessing link http://192.168.0.1 on my desk top. I am unable to access this link as it says it is no longer available.

    Any ideas anyone.

Have you tryed running a antivirus check? If so it could be your cookie setting in the tools>internet options.

I can't get internet connection even though it says my connection strength is "excellent."

The netbook is working fine. The WiFi connection or SPID may require you to login as in it is a protected signal. The "Excellent" means that you are receiving an excellent signal from the router. What you want is internet access which is upstream of that. Try a different SPID or connection.

Cant get my internet working

open your connections and find your connection and reconnect. if that does not work than you could have a problem with your wireless card . but some times all you have to do is turn your server off and unplug it for a minute and it will reset . good luck

Samsung NC10 will not connect to any network

If WLAN and Wireless cards are enabled, then you may have to unplug your router for 10 seconds to reset it. They tend to build up a static charge. Unplug wireless router for 10 seconds, plug back in and you should be fine in a minute or two with full connectivity

I have an HP Laptop LAN connection will not connect to internet

The wireless modem you are connecting to is protected with a WEP key. You have to get the WEP key or find another wifi hotspot that is not protected.

You can also get a better antenna for your laptop to see if you can pull in another site.

Unable to re-connect laptop to internet via wireless router

Reset all again.
Power off the modem, router, and PCs and wait 20 seconds or so.
Then power up the Modem first, then the router, and finally your PCs, wait a couple of minutes and try to connect.
