Question about Bissell SpotBot Robotic Wet/Dry Vacuum

1 Answer

No spray in hands-free mode.

I've had my Spot Bot for a year or so and it has always worked well. Today it wouldn't spray. I looked on your site and tried the solutions offered. It has good spray in the manual mode, but still won't spray in the hands-free mode. Any suggestions?

Hi, I had the same problem ... I tried hot water for 30 minutes with no sucess ... then opened the unit and could see nothing real obvious in the solution hoses ... so took the main hose off the valve from the solution tank ... then plugged in the unit over a towel (be careful) ... and selected clean ... the valve opened and a bunch of fluid flushed through - so I knew the valve was ok. I then blew through the remaining hoses and did seem to get some flow .... and reassembeled the unit ... and filled the tank with vinegar solution ... the manual spray immediately cleared with a bunch of dark flakes ... the regular brush spray worked fine.

When we put our spot bot cleaner on automatic the cleaning solution does not come out. The machine goes through all the cycles but the area is completely dry with no solution passing through the brush.

Good afternoon,

It sounds like the spray tip may be clogged. This is all referenced in the product/service manual located here:
http://ec1.images-amazon.com/media/i3d/01/A/man-migrate/MANUAL000074938.pdf

There are numerous points of reference in the manual, specifically on page 14:

I hope this helps. If you need clarification or additional assistance, let me know. Have a great day, and please rate this solution!

Thanks,

We have a spot bot we inheritied without a users

I had the same problem, and found that the culprit was that the small filter element. about the size of a dime, that sits arount the nozzle activator (pin that depresses the clean water nozzel) was clogged with "gunk", and prevented cleaning solution from flowing into the unit.. It is easy to remove with a pair of tweezers or needle nose pliars.. rise it under water and reseat in the unit. You shoudl be aboe to perform the whole process in under a minute. This has happend to me several times... and am surprised the filter is not mentioned in the manual.

I need an instruction manual or booklet

I could not find a model 12005 but I did find a 1200. You'll find several different manuals for Spot Bots at the link below. There should not be any significant differences among the Spot Bot models.

I bought a spot bot last year. It makes a grinding noise when I clean my rugs. Yes there is liquid in it.
Where can I have it checked on?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
Depending on what you paid for it would determine the cost of repair and or labor, typically the item has a one year factory warranty and you would have to check with the manufacturer to see what the warranty is and I will list the Bissell Factory Manufacturer below. The grinding noise could be that you have a build up of dirt in the motor or a broken fan blade or fan, and sometimes it may be cheaper to replace it than to repair it due to the cost of the part and the labor to install. Just a suggestion….
So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Trouble with Spotbot

My problem wasn't a problem with a new unit. We have had ours over a year and it has been flawless up until a few days ago. Ours stopped pumping cleaner for both the manual hose and the automatic section. Other solutions of priming the pump described make sense, but that was not my problem. When I would press the manual hose button a very short squirt of liquid would occur and then nothing. When I looked at the receptacle for the cleaner tank on the Spot bot side, there was a gray fuzz in there. I tried cleaning that with an old toothbrush and it came right out. It was a filter of some sort. It was gray on one side, black on the other and about the size of a dime. I guess over time the filter has gotten clogged and didn't allow a full flow of liquid. I removed the filter and put the tank back in. The unit works perfectly. I am going to try to clean the filter, put it back in and see if the unit will work. If not, the filter is history.
