How do you clean the rollers? We have only had this printer one year and

we have never had it work correctly you have to hold the left side of the front

door shut to make it work - is this part of the problem?

  • kianesalma Sep 11, 2008

Sorry my mistake when I looked it up it is 2 years old but we have never had it work without opening the front door for every printing or holding the left side of the door shut...

We put a new fuser kit in approx 6 mos ago,,, should it be bad already?

maybe we just got a lemon with this printer... Thanks for your help

Replace the toner.
It sounds like it has a defect in the imaging drum that is in the toner cartridge.

Hi sound like the print quality oiption got set to a higher level, is it still plotting out the print fine?

most settings are controlled via the software you are using so i would start there before going straight to the plotter as plotters plot what and how they are told. so check there first and let me know.

    Also calibrate the printer

Press (Select) to enter the MENUS .
Press (Down arrow) to highlight CONFIGURE DEVICE .
Press (Select) to select CONFIGURE DEVICE .
Press (Down arrow) to highlight PRINT QUALITY .
Press (Select) to select PRINT QUALITY .
Press (Down arrow) to highlight CALIBRATE NOW .
Press (Select) to select CALIBRATE NOW .
Wait for the printer to calibrate.

Nevermind the roller cleaning, they are most likely not the cause, you can try self cleaning, it should be in there.

What you said about pressing the side to get it to print correcty? sounds bad, as the printer is only a year old - You still have warranty on it? I would use the warranty in this case. It may be a part of the problem.

You can request assistance from other experts. Theres a button for that. Maybe someone out there knows exactly whats wrong. I will look into this. But I suggest you use the link / button for other experts, while I do that.

How to get rid of the vertical black line on the paper?

Usually replacing the toner cartridge fixes that problem. Sometimes it's the fuser.

Lexmark t-620 print spots

That usually indicates a worn heat roller in the fuser assembly. You can get a fuser from Amazon or other online site. They are user replaceable and run about $80-100. Do a search for T620 fuser and you will find them. Part number 99a2402 What happens is the Teflon coating on the fuser wears down which allows the toner to stick where is should not stick so it gets deposited on the paper in other locations and leaves spots.

Hp lasject 4050a toner cartridge have black line in the paper

Hello,

The vertical lines can be caused by a damaged fuser assembly. The fuser heats the toner and melts it onto the paper. The roller is covered with teflon and when it gets worn down it leaves streaks or "ghost" images on the paper. Here is an article dealing with the lines on a Laserjet 2100 printer but the cause is the same for the 400 and 4050 series printers. Check your fuser as per the information in the above article and if need be order a replacement fuser from somewhere like Amazon.

Black line on right hand side of the pahe

This usually indicates the the Teflon coating on the fuser roller is damaged and will need to be replaced. The fuser is the part at the back of the printer that heats the toner and fuses it to the paper. The heat roller is coated with Teflon so the toner does not stick. If something scratches this coating the toner will stick and come off on the paper in a line where ever it is damaged. Here is a link to an article showing how to check the toner, the guide is for the 2100 printer but the issue is the same.

Vertical line on paper from top to bottom

In my experience if you refill the toner cartridge with the toners available in the market, though they are labelled"for Brother 2140" you get vertical dark patches on the paper. Once in a while you get good quality print too. Replacement with correct toner cartridge seems to the solution.

My samsung ML 2510 prints a black streak on each plus a watermark from previous page

If your paper setting are set corectly (normal paper) and you are getting a "ghost image" from the previous page, most likley the fuser is the problem. On rare occasions, the drum unit could be the culpret (Black lines) down the sides of the page as you indicated.
You may have 2 problems.

I would change the toner drum 1st. If the black lines go away ,yet the ghost image continues, then change the fuser as well.

On the right side of every page has about a half inch of black lines running vertical down the paper.

what type of printer are you using?

if it is a laser printer, check your drum and/or transfer belt if fitted and also the fuser unit for any corresponding marks that match what is on your printout.

also, check the paper path for any spilt toner.

HP LaserJet 1300 Printer: black vertical lines on both side of paper

for this model.. first check if your toner cart is good.. if it's good.. then the cause of your problem is your printer fuser sleeve.. fuser is where the paper is heated up.. and when you start having dirty line print out.. it show that the fuser sleeve(top part of the fuser) is torn..
if you send to HP.. they will probably charge you the whole fuser.. which is expensive.. you can always replace the fuser sleeve only..and it cost not much.. you can always replace it by yourself if you are able to remove the fuser unit..other thing.when you switch on the printer, can you hear sound like paper been crumble at the exit of the printer?

Vertical black line down right side

Did you carefully inspect all through the paper path for some fuzz, or a small piece of paper smearing the print?
The other issue would be the fuser. Do you see any reprinting of images or letters in that area?
What you can do is set the machine to print 2 or more pages and open a cover or turn off the power to jam the prints in the machine. See if the line is on the drum or not. If not then you have a fuser roller issue which would require replacing the fuser.
