This wire is designed to be grounded when oparking brake is on this is so you cannot watch dvd while driving as that is illegal. Some people wire this up on a toggle switch to a ground so they can flip the switch and make it work whenever they want. I cannot tell you to just wire this to a ground as that would be illegal!!!!!! ;) supposed to wire it to the switch on park brake this wire grounds when brake is on

What do I need in order to watch movies on my radio. Everytime I put a dad in it says something about they cannot play while car is not in park but it be in park

Your Pioneer may not be properly installed. There is a light green wire in the wiring harness that needs to be connected to the parking brake wire in your vehicle. If that wire is installed correctly, there may be an issue with your vehicle. Below is a link to the installation manual.

How to install my Alpine in my 2001 525I BMW also how to by-pass the wires that allow the DVD to work without the e-brake on.

to install it you need to buy a dash kit for your car from walmart or amazon.com then you buy for your model and car the wire adapter kit. plain and simple from there. colored wires connected together easy as plug and play. to by pass the e-brake you need to buy a relay.
here is something i wrote up awhile ago for a buddy to bypass his after he took pictures of his model back.
On the back on the unit there should be an additional wire labeled as the "Parking Brake" or something to that effect. Law implies that this should be spliced into the Parking Brake wire (which is essentially a constant hot which becomes a ground when engaged). So the obvious thing here is to simply ground the Parking Brake wire on the back of the radio. This can be done just splicing it into the black wire on the radio harness.

Dvd plays but it turn blue whit no pic

Yes, your parking brake safety wire has been run the correct way, so it will only play when you are in park. If that is the case, you must disconnect the pink parking brake wire from the parking brake ground, and connect it to the radio units main ground wire. This will tell it that it is always in park. Caution, they put the wire there for a reason, very distracting to have a movie playing in the front seat.

How to play dvd video when driving my car

Most wiring harnesses have a solid orage wire for illumination of the radio2_bing.gif and also have an orange wire with a white stripe for dimming purposes. Most radios do not use this dimming feature. Connect the brake wire to this wire and your able to watch your movies whenever you want. All the wire is looking for is a signal. It cannot differentiate between a parking brake signal and a non-parking brake signal. Just remember to be safe and pay attention to the road. Oh, and most states have laws governing the use of video playing in plain sight of the driver. BE CAREFUL!

My vm9510 wont play the dvd with out saying parking and screen blue

You have to connect the park wire of the Jensen to your hand brakes that gets a negative signal everytime you engage it or you can try to put in series the park wire to a switch and any ground. Then read your manual how many times you got to switch it on and off until the picture appears when your dvd is playing. Same thing if you connect it to your parking brakes you got to engage your parking brakes on for 1 or 2 secs then back off then back on again for 1 or 2 secs keep doing this varying the secs till you get a picture. That will be the sequence to turn off that blue screen and on the dvd to watch the movie. Read your manual very carefully it will tell you the same thing but you definitely have to hook up the brake wire or else you will never see the picture. Check the manual for the color of the brake wire or just find the longest wire on the harness and thats usually the brake wire.

On the wiring harness there is a green parking sensor wire (PRK SW) that you have to hook up. All you have to do is ground that anywhere on the chassis of the car then youll be set.

If you have the VM9410 then there is a way to play dvd's even when you are driving. You must ground out the pink wire in the harness. This allows you to watch dvd's even when driving. good luck!
