Probably not a power issue if games play ok.
Could be your computer processor is too slow, not enough ram, driver settings, video codecs, graphics drivers or combination of any of them.

It could have something to do with the graphics card but the lines that show up have me thinking that it has to do with the monitor. The only way to know for sure is to hook up the monitor to another MAC and if you still get lines then you'll know its the monitor. If your still unsure, get the Radeon 1900 graphic cards upgrade kit replaced, if you still get the lines then you'll know its the monitor, if the lines go away then you know its the video card.

Is there any error message when you try to burn using the dvd+r? Did you try to use dvd-r?

There are dvd player cannot read dvdrw disc for playback. You will get to the point that it play on the computer but not in the dvd player. It is of the compatibility issue.

DVD won't play on one player, but will the other

It depends on the manufacturer which does not recognize like DVD's burned on a different make of DVD/Combo writer. For the PC try using these 2 softwares like UltraISO or Alcohol which helps in reading. Also check whether the DVD has a region/country/area selected before attempting to play it on the PC...........sodeep

Recorded dvd will not play on dvd player after dazzel put on dvd

At this case there might some applications or programs that use the dvd burner. I mean ( nero, roxio or others)

If you don't mind you can try the steps below to isolate the case.

Then try it again.

If the problem occurs try to update the firmware of your dvd burner.

it seems to be a defective card since one of my old graphics cards was defective and had the same problem. Also, try reinstalling the graphics drivers.

Screen going blank for a second or two while video freezes then jumps.

If you have on board graphics try removing video card and reboot when computer rebooted turn it of and refit card and restart when restarted computer should recognize new hard ware and should find the already installed drivers if not try installing drivers again
Sometimes windows does not recognize new hardware until its refitted
had this problem with modems alot and the above method solved it
