Had a recent paper jam ?

Turn off the unit (disconnect it from the computer if it is).

Check for any obstructions or torn pieces of paper inside.

If all is clear and still getting the error message, paper sensor inside the printer is malfunctioning which is a non-user serviceable part. You need to go for a replacement if warranty permits.

Check the inside of the machine, and try unplugging the power cord for ten minutes first.

After unplugging cable, try pressing ON button for ten seconds , see if this reset the machine.

Check thoroughly the inside of the machine, ensure that it is not a small fragment of paper stuck inside. Eventually turn machine upside down and shake it a bit, to find out if there is any foreign object inside.
Ensure also that the door is closing properly, open it and lose it back.

If you do not find any paper or foreign objects check the cartridges.
    Remove carttriges.
Unplug machine for a couple of minutes.
    Put cartridge back.
    Restart.

If you still get the error message try playing a bit with the paper tractors, at the back of the machine.

If you cannot get rid of the error message, then it means that there is an hardware fault. In this case the machine must be partially taken apart and re-mounted. This is job that is better done by a technician.

If you need to call in a repairman or validate your warranty (one year factory standard), you can call the service phone number listed on the printer owner manual, or cehce support page on Canon website.

    Regards

The screen just show "paper

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.

Printer keeps saying there is a paper

Hi there ok Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Canon MX300 Paper Jam

I have the same problem - every time I turn on my printer now, the alarm signal shows up with "Paper jam" but when I check for jammed paper, there is none. So I think there's something faulty with the printer. Is there any way to reset it? I've looked everywhere but can't find it.
