Question about Computers & Internet
I've thomson tg 585 v7 router, but wireless doesn't work at all. on router all lights are green (including Internet and Wireless), in router's management panel i see that everything is ok, when checking internet connectivity it shows that it is. my laptops (windows xp and windows vista) is showing that there's no connection to internet. windows xp in wireless connections is always showing "acquiring network address", windows vista shows that are connected to router and address is acquired. but there's no f.. internet. router sees both computers on the network. ant ideas?
The following info. might help you fixing the above problem:
For WIRELESS CONNECTION follow these Steps:
(Note: Keep the Ethernet cable plugged in unless we set up
1: Click on Home Network
Click on Configure which is the 3rd last icon on the Top
Make sure that the option-Interface Enabled is ticked.
Channel selection should be ob Manuall.
Wireless channel can be 11( thats what is in my case).
Encryption is again depending on what type of sercurity you wants. I would suggest go for WPA.
After editing the above info. do not fail to note the KEY before clicking Apply
Now just enable the WIRELESS CONNECTION on your PC /
Pull the SSID of your router and Click connect.
It will ask for the WEP/WPA key?
Enter the key and Click connect.

I had the same issue, about three hours after having a Tiscali engineer install my Thomson 585 suddenly the wireless disappeared. After checking everything I could think of on the router via the menu ( see the IP address in Solution 2) nothing fixed it, Last resort I tried changing the wireless channel from 1 to 11 and hey presto its working again! Don't ask me why but this seems to have worked for me.

The problem is not with your pc's. It has to do with your ISP.
Once connected to my modem (http:/192.168.1.254) my ISP Technical Support had me run the "Set up" task in the Thomson Gateway menu.
Once in the set up configuration they had me change the network segment from a drop down list. They also provided me with a new username and password to maintain a persisten connection. Unfortunately this isn't something you can do on your own. It seems it's ISP specific so you'll need their assistance.
So far so good with my modem.

Nothing wrong , problem wifi not communicating , switch of the modem for a while and switch on then wifi will work

I have a problem all lights are on, it says it's connected but when I try a web page it says the dsl line is down but it works other times is there something unplugging and plugging or is there a different problem
