-   My waste ink absorber is full. I wondered if I could fix it. Canon says a technician has to do it, but there are none anywhere near me.-   Guest

4 step to Reset waste ink tank counter CANON PIXMA iP 1000 STEP 1:- Disconnect printer from AC power STEP 2:- Press and HOLD the POWER button, and connect printer to AC power STEP 3:- release the the POWER button STEP 4:- Press the POWER button again
Instructions Things You’ll Need: Gloves Step 1: Open the top of the Canon Pixma ip1000 and look inside. Step 2: Locate the waste ink absorber pads. These are at the bottom right inside your printer. Step 3: Put on the gloves. Now remove the waste ink absorber pads and holder from the printer by gently lifting them out. It feels like they snap out, so do not be afraid to tug gently to remove them. Step 4: Clean the waste ink absorber by soaking up the ink with a tissue or wipe. Set the waste ink absorber on some newspaper to avoid ink spills. Step 5: Go back to the Canon printer, and view the other waste ink absorber. This is also on the right-hand bottom in the back of the printer. This one has screws to remove and comes out with a plastic piece. Step 6: Wash the sponge with clear water. Allow it to dry completely. This may take at least a day. When it is completely dry, reassemble. Step 7: Replace the waste ink absorber pads and sponge. Connect the printer to the power source.

I have an HP1020 printer that flat out will not print. It has worked rock-solid for a number of years. All the desktop printers we have in the school where I work are HP LJ 1012s or 1020s. Around the first of the school year, we had several people who's print spooler would stop after trying to open a pdf document. We were running Adobe 9.1 at the time, and have since upgraded to 9.2 - we thought we had this licked, but it not only happened again on this one computer, I flat cannot get it fixed! Running Windows XP, here's what I've done: Booted in as Safe mode. Logged in as local admin and removed files in C:WINDOWSsystem32spooldriversw32x86 and C:WINDOWSsystem32spoolprinters In the registry, removed the the printer listing in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlPrintEnvironmentMonitors After I reboot, and reinstall the printer, still will not print. It might flash a green blinking light like it's going to print, but it won't. HELP!
