I have the Viking Emerald 122/118/116. I can hear the motor running, but it will not do any stiching. I have cleaned the hook assembly area. Can you help? Thank you

Yes, I can wind a bobbin... I have taken the entire cover off and checked the belt, the upper threading area, and have made sure no fabric or thread have gotten into the lower gear areas.

Sounds like the circuit board. Take it to an authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer for service or have them send to Husqvarna Viking (SVP) Technical Service Dept for repair. A list of authorized dealers can be found at Husqvarna Viking website - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/us

Good luck.

WhyHusqvarna viking emerald 116 bobbin thread won't thread through?

The needle is not always picking up the bobbin thread. This sounds like a hook/needle timing issue that will require service by a Viking Service Tech. Suggest that it be serviced by an authorized Husqvarna Viking Dealer. You can find the nearest dealer by click on the "Dealer" link at http://www.husqvarnaviking.com
Good luck.

How do you adjust the bobbin tension on an emerald 118

There is a screw on the bobbin case that can be used to adjust the tension. However, first I would check that there is not a thread or lint caught in the tension spring of the bobbin case. Use a stiff brush to clean bobbin case. Use a needle (or other sharp point tool), and check spring area for thread.

Trying to clean under the bobbin case on Viking Emerald 183 and I can't get it out.

When looking at your bobbin case from the top you will notice the hook. Think of the tip of the hook as a clock dial. At 12:00 the hook would be behind the needle. Turn the hand-wheel is at 10:00 this will allow more clearance when removing the bobbin case/basket.

If you bought the machine new the warranty may still be in effect.

The bobbin is bird nesting on my viking emerald

Check that it is threaded correctly (both top and bottom) making sure that the upper thread is in the takeup lever and the bobbin is guided through the tension spring in the bobbin case. Watch the needle as you slowly turn the handwheel counter clockwise (toward you) and the needle point touches the fabric (make sure presser foot is down). Is the thread still relatively taunt? If it is loose, the upper thread tension unit does not have enough tension. Check the areas where the thread goes and make sure you remove any loose threads or fluff which could be inhibiting the tension discs from closing over the thread. If the tension unit still is not tightening enough, the tension unit may need to be replaced or the circuit board replaced. If everything is ok in the upper thread area, now look at the bobbin area. With no fabric, watch as the needle enters the bobbin area. Does it go down and the upper thread catch the bobbin thread and pulls it to the surface? Check for anything preventing the bobbin thread from being pulled up to the surface through the needle plate. If you have still not been able to resolve the problem suggest you take it to an authorized husqvarna viking dealer for service. You can locate a dealer near you by visiting the husqvarna viking website and clicking on the Dealer link on the left-hand side of the page - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com

Good luck.
