Question about PC Desktops

The other night I logged off my laptop without a hitch. Yesterday evening I tried to log back on and a couple things happened: The Icons were huge, I didn't have permission or it said that file could not be found, even the basic windows explorer. Im puzzled.

As soon as i log into my acer desktop, it logs off

Do you get any message indicating as to why? Try booting up into Safe Mode.

Restart your PC and then begin tapping the F8 key. Eventually you will be prompted with a list of options. Select Safe Mode with Networking.
If you can log into your system this way without being immediately logged out; you may be able to use System Restore to revert your system back to a time before this started happening. There are several things that could be causing this and rather than walk you through each one right away I figure we should try this first.

Use this tutorial video to walk you through performing a system restore.

Hi, We have 3 windows 7 machines in our company. Brand new, HP Elite sff machines running 32 bit win7. Yesterday one of our machine hung on the login screen. It would not log in. We would press...

it would depend on what anti virus you are running but i would fix the active directory and dns issues out asap. If the server is running haphazardly then the workstations(your 3 pc's) will experience problems themselves, logging on to the network will be the first thing it attempts when you start up , so yes it could be an issue with your DNS (the server not the protocol) as for if its the the antivrus , try turning it off to see if it causes it to work correctly. Does this happen every time you start the computer?

System passes the logon screen

Keep tapping the F8 key while you boot your machine, hopefully you will get a black screen with some white writting on it.
Using the up and down arrows select Boot Safe Mode without Networking.
Once you boot into safe mode go to programs>accessories>system tools>system restore and follow the wizard to restore your machine back to a time and date before you installed the modem software.
