Re: camcorder wont show images
This sounds like the iris is stuck almost closed. You can try gently tapping the side to attempt to release the iris. If that fils to resolve the problem, the unit should be brought to a servicer to rebuild the optical block.

dear first tell me when u close the lcd pannel , then is the view finder working fine , if not then view finder cable is broken . u cant fix it your self as u need to open the camcorder .you must not be having the proper tools for that. and regarding the lcd part , if the display is fine for a while ..and then while using it it goes fade , shows grey colour or lines in it . then its lcd problem ...ur lcd need to be replaced .
If you get a blank LCD, dimly lightened by a whitish back light, then the LCD display eis either faulty, badly connected, or the ribbon connector to LCD is defective. The camera must be taken apart, ribbon cable tested, and eventually replaced and adjusted. If all contacts on ribbon cable return continuity (cable is fine), then LCD is faulty, and must be replaced. Althought the job is not too difficult, an user without experience may damage the camera in attempting this repair. My first suggestion is always taking the unit to a camera shop.
I have recently had what I think is the same problem. I wrote to a supplier in the UK to see if they could diagnose it from my description. My camera is still not fixed as yet (as I have not sent it off yet for fixing), however there initial analysis was that it is 'Drive PCB' problem and a replacement part would cost £38 + labour + tax. I am not sure what the Drive PCB is, but I have the same blank/grey screen when trying to record but playback is OK. My camera is also about 2 years old.
That think must got damaged... dont woory.. try to clean the head and dont try to put the old tapes in it. it could damage the head. can u see any thing on screen while on recording mode? if yes the problem will be withthe head. use a head cleaner.
