Hi thanks for the email, i would like to point out that the Sharp model in question is not a television but a video/dvd combi. And the answer to the problem is to remove the vcr deck and replace and realign the cassette carriage loading gears.Hope this helps others with the same problem.

My pioneer prohd710 64" video changes from color to BW from time to time. What is going on? Also when I power off it give a loud noise compared to a quiet click I am Used to hear.

If using a box of some sort unplug it first and then later plug it back (do same with set) .

This will allow both units to reboot and may or may not cure your issues.

The pop at turn off suggests either a audio problem or a power supply issue.

Due to the age of the set the only common issue here is these sets develop bad solder connections from age----mostly on the power supply board inside the set.

Samsung model HLP4663WX/XAA with loud buzzing noise, need to know which part to replace.

See attached photo: you have a bad color wheel----it turns at about 12,000 rpm and bearings in the tiny motor go bad.

High pitched or fan like sound is classic symptom.

The wheel is available on the internet and You Tube has video instructions by model number for replacing it---Google the model number for the part number for your set to locate the part and instructions.

This for most people is a do it yourself job---takes like 45 minutes start to finish.

If color wheel slows too much set will shut down as its speed is monitored and the wheel can even shatter causing shutdown of the set.

My tv makes a loud humming noise when it is plugged in. I just replaced the lamp and the noise remains. Any suggestions

Hello: Have your color wheel replaced in this model. The color wheels motor bearings are going out, this is the humming noise you are hearing. you can replaced this part yourself if you are somewhat electrically and mechnically inclined. There are youTube videos that will show u the process.

I have a Sharp 56DR650 Rear Pro. TV. w/ a LOUD color wheel motor

If the color wheel is making noise then its best to replace it and not try to repair it, Unfortunatley the wheel is not available by itself and a complete optic block part # 9NK3797086200...Be careful when taking the bock apart as it runs $900.00

Picture fine for 10min.-then flickers(clicking sound)& then colors gone yellow

Looks like it's a color wheel problem-found a cleaning walkthru online, but it doesn't get rid of the loud hum form the CW motor. Also, it is thermal related-when the colors went out I placed a fan next to the color wheel and everything went back to normal. Several design flaws here and for $3000 these companies should do better-severe problems after a couple years is not acceptable.

PROBLEM WITH MY TV SHARP 56DR560

your problem is the color wheel. the load noise is comming from the color wheel motor. there is an article here on how to take the color wheel out. what you need to do it follow those steps and take the motor apart and clean it without breaking it and put thin high temp grease on the axle of motor and put it all back together. that will fix the loud noise and the fading of the screen. i know because i am an electrician and i fixed my shap tv. any questions just ask

Sharp 65dr650 rear projection tv makes loud nois while its on

Looks like we all got screwed with this TV. Mine just started after 2 years and now it's getting louder. I think I rather call my lawyer than Tech. This product is NOT build properly and someone should let the company know about it.

Big Screen gets loud, mad and turns off

without a model number, i can't be much help. if this is a newer dlp or similar tv, the fan is probably going out. some newer tv's have a fan that is part of the light assembly, some have a separate fan.. the loud whirring noise is usually caused by bad bearings or the blades of the fan may have become unbalanced, either way, the fan making the noise will need replacing. the color going is usually caused by the lcd or dlp overheating and/or the lamp overheating.

if the tv is out of warranty, remove the back panel, locate the fan making the noise, and search for a replacement. if you have a model number, i can check around and see if i can find the part number for you.

hope this helps,
trin
