I have a Conrac Plasma Display 4042. habe einen Conrac Plasma Display 4042. The TV Tuner input is defect black image. The SCART inputs, PC und AV are working. I have checked the supply voltage at Tuner (Model Microtune 4046 FM5) . The +5V voltage is missing at both pins (Pin 8 and Pin 20 -> +5V for IF). I didn't found which part shall supply this voltage?
The Signal Interface Board (with all signal inputs and IO) has the code "Conrac 4042-6300-6502". This Board is used also in Fujitsu-Siemens Conrac Display TV42 4042. Do you have schamtics for this board? Who supplies the 5V for the Tuner? Ufff, I have checked all board Pins but didn't find any connection to tuner!

Make sure you haven't selected the wrong input using the input or source button on your remote control. You may have to cycle through several choice until you get to TV or Tuner or something similar. Cycle slowly, some TV's take a few seconds to render the picture one you choose a different input source.
If the problem happens using different input and devices, then it is either the terminal circuit (input/output connectors) or the processing unit in main board. The terminals are unlikely the culprit if problem concerns different inputs.
I imagine that the picture is not properly B&W (gray-shades) but some kind of reddish, bluish or greenish picture as the LCD will process picture using RGB (red green blue) channels instead of CYMK (cyan yellow magenta black) like CRT TVs.
Test the TV using an external aerial. You will notice if the channels have the wrong color even from static.
Use different inputs, different cables and different devices. beware of SCART cables, the SCART contacts are very easy to break. A defective cable will loose picture. Better testing using AV cables and component cables. AV cables are red/white for sound and yellow for video. If the two-wired yellow cable does not work, then the TV is faulty. Other test can be done using component cables. Component cables send the three red-green-blue signals on different cables, hence testing is simple. Test swapping cables and see if TV tone stays the same if color tone changes the problem were the cables. Test also using at least two different devices (e.g. one DVD player and one TV receiver or a playstation).
If you find that the TV is defective call the manufacturer at the number listed on manual. If the problem is that one or more RGB channels do not work the TV main controller board must be replaced.
hello firstly scart lead from sky box to tv1 in) this is at the top there are two AV inputs ,,,on the bottom AV slot this is where your DVD conects too).iff you are using sky you will not need aerial in back of tv as this is for analogue use such as indoor antenna or outdoor antenna or iff using horizon the scart lead will suffice for all goodluck
Press the "TV/AV/PC" button to display the choice of input sources, move to the required choice (SCART in your case) using the channel up/down buttons, then press the volume + or - button to selectyour choice.
If you have connected using the coax (aerial) ten the problem will be that the vcr is analogue and the tv is digital(if you have an older digital tv it should have an analogue tuner so you can set it to analogue and tune to the vcr) I suggest using a scart cable from the vcr to the tv, then you just press av on the remote(on some you can just change the channel down from 1 to the av inputs).
I've had a similar problem, It was not the TV or the DVD player but the SCART junction box (a separate unit that automatically sent the live input to the output SCART socket, to fix I just uses a spare empty input socket. if you don't have one of these units try with a different SCART socket or AV input also try replacing the leads between the player and TV.
sounds like this set is in the UK??? or somewhere out of the states. If it working good on the tuner or telex box , the equipment your plugging into the AV inputs are not compadible to the tv set or there is a setting in the TV menu to change the format to pal
