XP machine from the factory? If so, first run a VALID spyware cleaner such as Spybot S&D from Safer-Networking.org After this, see what's running in the system tray. If there are unwanted programs running that you never use, go into Control Panel and remove them. Leave anything related to graphics or sound alone. Machine will be much quicker. If this is a pre-XP machine which has been upgraded, the mainboard was probably designed for Win98 and will be dead slow running current software. Also, XP needs at least 512 mb to run properly. Incidentally, I have 2 Lenovo machines I use myself, and a constant stream of Dells and HPs coming in to be fixed, so draw your own conclusions.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

just been fixing a window vista laptop with problems

Microsoft stopped supporting windows vista years ago
no updates or upgrades
you are at base service pack one
and computer should have been updated to service pack 3 years ago
from service pack 3 a windows 10 upgrade is possible

try an ethernet or usb wifi connection .
.see if the computer will run the way you want it

any windows vista computer is a x32 bit system
with upgrades can run x64
x86 is the current

if you are running anything higher than 32 or x64 software the computer will be slow sometimes freeze or shut down

vista came out same time as and dial up internet
and early broad band

vista can run office 95 but windows 2000 is stable

Lack of useable app downloads

The LG G3 is something spectacular compared to that net book lol. That net book is honestly too slow in my opinion but I would try jail breaking it if its on android and then putting a new more updated version, like android 4.0

My I pod touch has internet connection strong signal but when I try to retrieve e mail or down load my apps it just says 'loading' for ages

There could be multiple problems associated with your problem .. Here's my take in fixes 1. Simple restart would fix most of the slow problems (ESP if you have just update your iPod) 2. If you have too Many apps on your iPod it slows down try deleting some 3. Quit background apps # this Is random but has worked for me try switching your wif(not the router just your ipod settings)i on/off before downloading any app if you feel it's slow.
