Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC17. If it doesn't seem to be picking up as well as usual, it's possible that there's a blockage in the system, and you may need to give the filter a wash. The easiest way to check for and remove any blockages is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=954&product=DC17-ANIMAL

The correct way to wash the filter is shown in the video below. Under normal use, this should be done at least once every 3-6 months. Use cold water without detergent, and allow up to 24 hours for the filter to dry completely before replacing it.

By clearing any obstructions and washing the filter, you should be able to resolve your issue without further assistance. However, if you've tried this and are still concerned, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting over the phone with you, and to recommend the best course of action. You can call us free on 1866MYDYSON - or if you email your contact details to [email protected], someone will be in contact as soon as possible.

Kind regards,

Jack

Karcher puzzi 10/1 carpet & upholstery cleaning maching not working in suction mode.

It sounds like you are having some issues with your Karcher Puzzi 10/1 carpet and upholstery cleaning machine. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Make sure that the hose is securely attached to the machine and that there are no kinks or blockages in the hose.
  2. Check the filter to make sure it is clean and not clogged. If the filter is dirty or clogged, it can reduce suction power.
  3. Check the solution tank to make sure it is properly seated and sealed. If the solution tank is not seated correctly, it can cause problems with suction.
  4. Make sure that the machine is turned on and that the switch is set to the "suction" mode.
  5. If the problem persists, you may need to take the machine to a Karcher service center for further diagnosis and repair.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

What causes poor suction on model ud40270? It seems like a lot of air is blowing out the front where the filter is.

Susan:

First, remove and clean or replace all of the filters in the machine. There is an inlet filter above the dirt collection cup. and an exhaust filter at the front lower part of the top of the vacuum head. If either filter is clogged, you'll get poor suction. Also lay the machine on it's back, and check the tunnel where the dirt goes up into the machine (behind the beater bar) to see that it is not clogged.

My Hoover windtunnel has very little suction. I have cleaned the entire vacuum. Cleaned filters. My Hepa filter is a little torn, don't know if that could be issue. After cleaning it does suck a tad bit...

Is the belt still intact?
Does it has a wand tool, normally they are connected at the bottom of the machine,if it gets plugged up with gunk, that will greatly reduce your suction.

My dyson works fine until I pull out the pipe to do the skirting and edges, there is no suction at all, please help.

There are many possible problems here, the most obvious of which may be a clog in the hose. You can remove the hose entirely by depressing a small tab that holds the hose on towards the base of the machine. This tab is hidden between the machine and the hose itself.

If you can manage to get the hose off, check the valve directly below the hose for debris, then try running a couple pennies through the hose itself and seeing if they make it to the other side.

If all checks out good, you may have a greater problem. Dyson's require a lot of maintenance to keep their suction (cleaning filters, blowing out the canister combs) that is often overlooked. Try your manual or failing that, the local service shop.

I have changed the hepa filter & made sure the washable filter is clean. I checked the brush & it's working fine. The indicator is still red very little green. Not suctioning good at all. What...

check the suction hose where it bends down to the floor unit,, lots of times dirt, hair and stuff collects there when the filter was plugged up. remove the floor plate ( like you were going to change the belt ) and use a wire coat hanger to run up the suction hose and back out and clean out any debris, also check the entire hose for blockage ( top to bottom ). if this is all clear and you still have little suction - then the problem could be the vacume motor itself and you will need to take the unit into the repair shop and have the motor rebuilt or replaced.

The machine will not suction - it will spray and spin the brushes but will not suction - the power is going to the machine, but it will not suction.

Disconnect the suction hose. While running, check the suction port if it works, by putting a piece of paper. If the paper is taken in, then it is oK. Now, check the suction Hose for breaks or opening before the suction head. Breaks or opening breaks the suction power at the suction head. Loose connection between the suction pipe and the suction port also must be check as this will also cause the same
problem. You may need to replace the suction hose

I have a billell Pro Heat 2X without a manual. How do I fill it and what ratio water to cleaner?

The cleaner goes into the small bottom at the very rear of the machine. It is uses full strenght (don't add any water to it). You add clean water into the bottom clear plastic section on the front of the machine. The clean water bladder is soft plastic and it is filled from the top. When you start using the machine, the dirty water will get suctioned into the section surrounding this bladder. The machine will stop working when either the bladder is empty or the dirty water section is full. Remove the entire plastic section to dump out the dirty water.

No suction, filters have been cleaned/replaced!

Sounds like you most likely have two problems:

1: There is a clog somewhere in your air pathway, which is why you're not getting any suction at the end of the hose. Try disconnecting the hose from the machine and checking inside the various openings for clogs.

2: Your belt needs replacement, which is why you're not getting the lines on the carpet. Remove the baseplate on the underside of the machine and remove the brushroll, put the new belt around the motor pulley and replace the brushroll. Note that even if your old belt appears fine, it's probably stretched to the point that it's not agitating properly.

Otherwise, it is entirely possible that your motor is shot and is not able to effectively move air. This is very common with bagless vacuums, which is why the average lifespan of bagless vacuums is 1.5-3 years.

Good luck,

Loss of suction bissell vacume

that is normal for the vacume to shut off if the motor overheats you must keep teh dirt cup clean and empty and all the filters clean, when you empty the dirt cup if you have a lot of pet hair take the hose off and make sure that it is clean as well, and do not try to pick up any of those cleaning wipes that will stop it up real quick

Vacuum

You checked the belt, but I bet it has stretched and won't drive the brush roll under load like it should. Belts only last a few months the stretch and should be replaced. Iff you have suction at the hose, then it has to be down below, either belt/brush roll, or the inlet by the brush roll is clogged.
