Try unplugging your laptop. remove the battery. press and hold the power button for 30 or so seconds. install the battery and reboot. press f10 which will take you into the cmos/bios settings. save and exit...let it boot into windows. should work.

Power-on Password

b> If your HP Compaq 6715B laptop is lost or stolen, the power-on password can protect the valuable data on your computer. Even so, there may be times you'll want to clear that password and knowing the right procedure will make that easier. Once the power-on password is cleared, the Compaq 6715B will no longer require you to enter a password just to start up your laptop.

Shut down your Compaq 6715B and wait for it to power off. Press the "Power" button to restart the laptop. Tap the "F10" key after the Compaq splash screen appears. Wait for the setup menu to appear. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Security" menu and scroll down to the "Power On Password" option. Delete the entries in both boxes, then press the "F10" key. Choose the "Save Changes and Exit" option to exit the setup menu. Wait for the laptop to restart and verify that the laptop does not prompt for a power-on password. Hope this helps.

Glad to HELP YOU!

All you have to do is to go
START > CONTROL PANEL > MOUSE
and there to ENABLE (just check this option) this feature and you can also setup the SENSITIVITY by sliding right (more sensitive) or left (less sensitive) the cursor.

My best wishes!

Where is the wireless button on my hp pavillion dv7-1247cl? My wireless button is turned off, but I don't know how to turn it back on or where it is located

Hello,

According to the manual the wireless ON/OFF is located just below the screen on the right.

Here's a link to the manual that shows a diagram:

I hope this helps.

I need help disbling this touch pad

You need to look into the user information manual for that notebook to see if there is a disable function. If nothing else works, Place tape over the touchpad and that should help. Additionally, you can look at your mouse sensitivity settings in Windows under control panel and reduce the sensitivity of the mouse.

My touch pad is SUPER sensitive, when I type, my cursor ends up all over the place. I read up on hitting the f7 key, but I am totally computer illiterate. When you guys say hit the function key, do you...

From Dell:
Customizing the Touch PadYou can use the Mouse Properties window to disable the touch pad or adjust the touch pad settings.
  1. Click Start keyboar4.jpg , and then click Control Panel.

  2. Click Hardware and Sound.

  3. Click Keyboard.

  4. In the Mouse Properties window:

    • Click the Device Select tab to disable the touch pad.

    • Click the Touch Pad tab to adjust touch pad settings.

  5. Click OK to save the settings and close the window.

Wireless connection HP Pavillion DV5000

Sometimes there is a button above the Function keys that looks like an antennae with air waves coming from it. Sometimes on HP laptops, you can accidentally hit this button (which is touch sensitive) to turn off the wireless radio. Look to see if this button is lit up. If not, try to see if you can touch the spot where it "would" light up, so that it will light up.

Key types twice on Hp pavilion labtop

If you go to start > (settings) > control panel.

Switch to classic display if applicable.

Select the keyboard icon and you can adjust the sensitivity. This will only work for all the keys but might help you.

My touch sensitive panel above the function keys no longer work please help me with an answer thank you

Check settings of your touchpad in control panel. U need to to adjust the sensitivity. If you cant find it, then download a touchpad utility. U need to check in device manager what brand of touchpad u have. It might be an ALPS or SYNOPTICS. u can download it from support.toshiba.com for US model or at toshiba.ca/support for a canadian model. Have a nice day.
