Normally grainy pictures are a result of poor ground connections, although usually for more than one channel. Check the cable connections first. Otherwise all I can suggest is to have the tuner replaced.

What would be the probable cause of my konzert amplifier av-502 after replacing 2 power transistors npn & pnp in the left channel, the sound is distorted. i'ved checked the voltage across the spea

Check the bias resistors. They can burn out when power amp transistors fail. They will be very near to those two replacements. You can compare any parts using the right channel as a good. Readings and voltage measurements should be the same for both channels. Also the look of the parts. If a resistor is off-colour in the left, but not in the right you know something is up.

I have a hitachi rear projection tv. Model #51f510. Picture is bright and clear but goes to distorted when you change the channel. If you turn the tv off then on its worse. Then again turn the tv off then...

Try tapping/knocking on various parts of the TV to see it a bad solder joint is responsible. It could also be some component getting too hot or aged to the point of malfunction.
Don't waste any money trying to fix this, rear projection TVs are dinosaurs.

New LG 32LD350 - Allowed TV to auto-program channels, and for some reason, it skipped past channel 4 during the tuning process. When I select channel 4 in the tuning options, it comes up as no signal. On...

When you are auto tuning the system will not store a channel which is week by its standard ( at least 60% signal strength ) This done to avoid grainy picture and hissy sound.
You can go into manual tuning and store it.

Two or three of the channels start of clear then go grainy or unclear

Is your t.v old. If yes this can sometimes happen. All you have to do is take those channel, tune them BACKWARDS a little and then set the channel as required and then store. Do this for every channel separately.

With my starview 3 all of sudden my sound is distorted

To get back sound channels ect just select the channel in question press menu,
select installation, select manual scan, click ok on down frequency.
It'll now scan for channels when its finished exit back to normal
tv viewing screen go to the end of your channel listing and the desired channel will be there with sound.
This can be done on any channel with no sound by just selecting that channel following the instructions above.
Hope this helps

Hey madmedia63

Good old amps these. Fixed a few over the years. I would expect dry solder joints in and about the channel switching. If you got a mate with soldering experience, he da man to help you sort it. Hard to help you anymore without actually looking inside the amp to see what's going on. But that's were I would start at least. Way round it I guess is to use a distortion pedal. Go for a metalzone to get similar sort of distortion. \m/ riff out ;)
