Question about Canon PIXMA MP470 All-in-One Printer

Ink has NOT run out!

I've only just changed my colour cartridge, and yet the Canon didn't reset the setting on itself to tell it that it's a new cartridge, therefore it constantly tells me it's out of ink when it's actually pretty much full.

How do I get the printer to recognise the ACTUAL quantity of ink?

Thanks.

I have the same problem. If I refill it before it says it's empty, then it accepts the ink refill. However, if I wait until it says that the ink has run out, and then try to refill it, it won't accept the refill. Does anyone know how to get around this? Leesa in VA

Perfect solution! It was bugging the foo fly out of me too, and I finally figured it out! Hold down the reset button for at least 5 seconds and it will reset itself!!!!!

The printer's lying to me

The printer requires both cartridges to have ink before the printer will initialize and operational. Even if you are only printing black and white both cartridge have to contain ink or the printer will error out. This is standard on all ink jet printers from every manufacturer. You will have to get ink before you can print.

How do I reset or disable the ink level indicator on the Canon mg2120?

Inkjet cartridges dried up at the nozzles. Can be dissolved by water to print again. Refill cartridges done by yourself can have dried up ink left in the cartridge to make it too concentrated. Too easy to dry up.

I'm having a problem with the ink magenta on an IP4500 Canon Printer, it's not printing any magenta even with new cartridges and I've done all the maintenance checks!! Help!

there are small metal spring contacts between the cartridge holder and the cartridge itself, these send the signals to the print head via the cartridge holder. Over time, as a print cartridge moves from side to side during printing these flatten out and no longer come into contact with the cartridge. Find the contacts behind your magenta colour cartridge and re-tension the spring metal contacts so they once again contact the metal faces on the cartridge. They maybe hard to find as they will be in the place where the cartridge goes, use the flat copper faces on the cartridge to give you a clue as to the position of the contacts in the holder.

I refilled the ink cartridges on my canon mp250 copier because it stoped printing. The little info box said that the ink was running low now it still won't print . I 've re inserted the ink cartridges...

originally, when u have ink cartridges in Canon product run low u need to buy new ones, because it was designed like that. even u have refilled the old cartridge full, it will detected low ink because the old cartridge already detected for the beginning. this designed to make Canon buyer to buy new ones ink cartridge. but, there some trick to make your old cartridge detected as new one, all u need just to reset the setting for cartridge recognition. try to visit this site:

You have to look online for the canon tool to reset the ink counters. When you refill these cartridges you have to run this program in order to re-use the cartridges.

Have changed Ink Black and Colour... Stil getting error Message.

Make sure the tape covering the hole on the bottom of the black cartridge is removed. and then go into the printers folder and right click on your printer icon and go into the properties of that printer and there should be something in there to tell it that you changed cartridges and you can also print a test page as well.
