You may restorte defualt settings of your bios..if still then check out if Numlock is off or on and let me inform you that ASCII only recognize (NUMBER) format not Alphabatical format .. if i'm wrong at this you may inform me at my email id of here (email@example.com)

The usb port isn't in your cash register. Your cash register has a serial port that should look like this:
You should have a cable that has a USB connector at one end and a port that will accomodate a cable like pictured above.
