NO SOUND at all!

Everything was fine...then one day I turned on the TV and the sound was not there. Checked all the plugs and even unhooked the cable and dvd. Even with just the regular tv, the sound will not work. I also checked the switch on the back and made sure it was on internal mode. There has not been any other problems and the picture is still perfect. Everything else also works fine. The tv is only 3yrs old. No other warning noise or problems. I even hooked up a set of headphones to the outlet and ...nothing. I am not that savy with electronics so please explain in detail what I need to do or have done. Is this costly? Thanks for your help!!!!!!!

It is odd for this model to have a sound problem. this is most likley a problem in the audio amp circuit in the tv. the problem is a repair cost will run 300-400. this is more than you should put into the tv. why dont you try running the aux audio out (rca jacks) on the back of the tv to a stereo and use the stereo for your sound?\let me know if you uneed more info here??

The audio is controlled by the small signal board, which is very costly and hard to get, however I will post a link where you can get one for about half price. Its called the ITC small signal board and its actually a sale item at this site. Heres the link.

Toshiba 57H83 and no longer get any sound. Any

Most often No Sound with Toshiba 57H83 is:

1. TV has a Sound on-off switch on the input panel at the rear of the TV. Very hard to see, black on black. Used to turn off speakers if you use a separate or external sound system for speakers. Usually gets moved while connecting hd cables or dusting and vacuuming in cramped space at the rear of the TV.

2. Someone accidentally changed Sound settings with remote to CC (closed caption) or SAP. Turn off in sound menu and save preference.

3. Sound input plugs from external cable or sat box unhooked or wrong input.

Toshiba 57H83 no sound fault is not common. If you still have no sound, get local service.

Or troubleshoot yourself to determine if Tuner, IF, processing, sound demod, switching or sound output circuit is smoked. Then make an installation plan.

Jvc i art av 36f475: no sound

Good Day sir/maam, my guess are several, lets start at the common ones, make sure that the AV cables are good. you can try swapping cables to make sure. If possible try the cables on other units such as any DVD player. There is a possibility that the sound jack, is bad, try to vibrate the plugged cable, and see if the sound goes back if it does, you need to solder the terminals. Worse is the Amplifier section of the TV. does the TV sound normal on broadcast? check the volume, mute. or the TV setup. hope this helps. if you have additional info please feel free to ask again, let me know any progress. thanks

I HAD TV ON. EVERYTHING WAS FINE. ALL OF A SUDDEN, IT BECAME SNOWY. LIKE THE CABLE WAS OUT. SO, I TRIED UNHOOKING DIGITAL CABLE BOX. AND HOOKING CABLE STRAIGHT TO THE TV. STILL, IT WOULD NOT GO ANY HIGHER...

Try putting your finger over the aerial socket hole behind the TV while TV is on (using your self as an aerial). If snowy disappears then you have an aerial plug/wire disconnection problem.

My high definiton is working great and everything is fine except one major thing, which is that there is no sound at all. I would like to know how i might fix this problem.

Good Day, timerwer;

HD is fine but no audio! Not knowing that if you ever had sound, have surround system, hooked to an input or RF, I would suspect that you only have the Green, Blue, and Red cables hooked to your TV and the Audio cables ( red - white ).
If you do; unplug TV (reset, reboot) from A/C outlet for 3 to 5 minutes. If still no work try these suggestions:
1. Make sure the TV's internal speakers are turned 'ON'.
2. Make sure the "BOX" ( cable, sat, u-verse) volume is turned up all the way up.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

HITACHI 51F59 51 " TV -- NO SOUND NO PICTURE

If it is only a few days over the warranty call immedieatly, if it is much over that then these newer Hitachis are in my opinion not worth repair, and I mean the newer under $1000 units the parts are near the origianl cost sometimes.

yes it could ba the cable itself even, but i suspect more the tuner circuit or tuner itself may have bad solder connections. Here is another test for you to try, plug another dvd or vcr, or xbox etc. into the back, using one odf the inputs. See if this works like the built in dvd. if so it will be more likely bad connections in the tuner or surrounding circuit. good luck.
