Boot up with the disc in the cd rom drive.... if it doesn't boot to cd i'll explain that next.... follow the instructions on screen.... if it reboots during setup do not hit any key to start the boot from cd ... be aware there is a difference between system restore and system recovery... the last one usually formats your hard drive so you lose all the data on it.

Samba 1845 won't boot how can I make it do so?

From what I can tell it would be HDD related. Have you test the HDD, is good? Do you have a Recovery disk of your OS? The machine has some miles on it ,right? I would start trying to load the disks (CD) that came with the machine, (I don't know your OS), If you don't have them, you can search for a windows repair disk online.

How do you reset the desktop

Reset? You mean do a System Restore or a System Recovery?

System Restore will restore your system to a particular date and time before you started having problems. It saves all your data.

System Recovery will set your system back to when you first purchased it. It will delete all your data.

System Restore can be run by clicking Start/Program/Accessories/System Tools /System Restore. Select a date and time before you started having problems.

System Recovery - Read the Manual. If there is no recovery listed in the Program List (by clicking Start/Programs) then you will probably have a certain key to hit when the system boots up. The manual will tell you for sure how to do a recovery. Be, warned unless there is a recovery partition on your hard drive that the manufacturer placed there, then most times the others don't work too well.

My acer aspire will not boot can you help

I think the operation system is corrupted and the action to do is press the key specified on screen to get to the boot menu ..and select the recovery partition if you have one ..In this option select to total reinstall the operation system and will work after that .
To engage the recovery if it does not work with the boot menu ..try to see if F11 works ..usually this key is reserved for recovery procedure alone ..
If you do not have a recovery partition you will need a recovery disk and the same procedure Boot from disk and reinstall the system or ..a Boot-able disk with operation system on it to reinstall the system from scratch ..
let me know if you have other issues related with this ..

Hi i have a porbolem with my hp pavilion dv5000 so i wanna reformat it and i dont know why

To reformat your HP machine, you need the recovery disks...This article tells you how to create them....Note...they can only be created ONCE from your machine.....so make sure you do it correctly:

http://www.pctechbytes.com/hp/hp-recovery-cd-creation

Next.... BACK UP your data...and TEST it.....make sure your data is working on your backup media....formatting the drive will erase all your data and start over from a fresh copy of Windows.

After that you need to boot your PC from the recovery disk (if it doesn't ask you to boot from the CD you will need to hit F10 key at your HP splash screen to enter the system BIOS. Find the boot order setting and change it so the CD/DVD drive is on top)

After you successfully boot from the DVD, you can pretty much follow the on screen instructions. The following page has more information on reinstalling Windows: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/help/install-reinstall-uninstall

Good Luck...be careful, but don't be afraid :) as long as you have good backups you should be all good.

System restore. insert recovery disk to reboot. I do not have a recovery disk. anyway i can down load one hp model a6700y

Usually with HP all you have to do is tap F10 when you get the logo screen during power up and it should start the recovery procedure for you. Just watch the logo screen and it will tell you what key to hit to start the recovery.

HP, in recent years, created a separate, protected partition that housed the original image of your hard drive at the factory. They do not provide recovery discs when you purchase the machine any more. You would need to contact hp and order the CD kit. There will be a small charge for them.
