Question about Rowenta Perfect Iron

Rowenta Iron DZ6700

I PURCHASEDROWENTA "UNPERFECT" IRON MODEL DZ6700. Within 2 weeks. it started leaking. I was able to return it to store and get a replacement. That next one started leaking and every time I went to use iron, it was sitting in a puddle of water. After turning it on it would shut itself off within 5 minute. I returned to store again. I was unable to get a refund but they did replace it free of charge. I am now waiting on this to start leakingand shorting out but I have already purchsaed a replacement at Target.(14.99) I have learned to always have a back-up iron if you own a Rowenta iron.

My black and decker iron leaks model IR08x. It has leaked from the very first time I used it. I have not overfilled it, it has been cleaned per directions

You should have returned it under warranty...

It depends on where the leak is from. Steam irons often drip some water from the soleplate steam holes but an internal leak could have potentially serious electrical safety implications. If the water appears to be leaking from between the upper plastic part and the soleplate you should not use the iron until it has been properly repaired.

The electrical cord is very hot at the point where the cord enters the iron

mcdevito75 here, You may have a problem with the heating element in your iron, Check to see if you have a Warrantee if so, return the iron to Black & Decker. In the meantime look for an appliance repair shop in your area and have the iron checked out.

My shark steam iron is leaking when ironing

It is quite possible that this is a defect in the shark G1490F... I had the same problem and it was a crack in the water holding tank caused by tightening the two front screws (hidden) that hold the tank to the base... It seemed fine at first but after a full heating it developed a crack where it had been weakened when it was assembled... I suggest returning it or if warranty is up , throw it away and get something else..

Yellow light flashes, colored water leaks. Assume

If the water is reddish or black looking the iron insides may be rusted out, and is bad enough that the seal has been compromised. This happens if water is left in iron when storing. If the iron is still warrantied return it to the store where it was purchased, or buy a new one.

I have a rowenta iron that leaks a lot of water

Here's a solution . . . Do NOT buy ROWENTA! I've had 3 Rowenta irons. All of them have eventually began to dump water out of the base. . . heck, the Titanic didn't leak as much as a Rowenta iron!
