I have an Intertherm furnace model#G5RA072C-12, turned the thermostate, brand new last winter, on to heat, and do not hear any gas coming out to light the pilot. The pilot is not lit either. The mother board, the sensor rod and ignitor coil were replaced in January 2008. Once all of that was fixed then, the furnace worked great. All of the swtches are on, the mother board is fine, and when i turn on to heat on the thermostat, all that blows is the fan. Please help?

by igniter I assume you mean the thermocoupler. are you turning the control button to run after you light the pilot light? Normally when those furnaces quit it is the thermocoupler that has quit. Get a new one and leave it in the furnace compartment as a spare.
Number of flashes mean different things for diff models. The meanings of those flashes should be posted somewhere on the unit; usually inside front of the bottom service panel. Though you can't truly diagnose a problem by number of flashes they can give you an idea of where to look for a problem. There are a ton of videos and how-to's about furnaces on youtube by real service techs. Most modern furnaces have basically the same set-up and features so don't worry about your paticular brand; but of course that would be the best place to start looking. You could start here to familiarize yourself with your brand of furnace:
Hello, if the Furnace is a standing pilot then turn the knob on the gas valve to pilot, you will hear a hissing sound then use a match or a lighter to light it at the thermoouple. Hold the knob on pilot for about 30 seconds and then turn the knob to gas and burners should ignite.
If there are only two wires going to the thermostat? Then you will not be able to use a Digital Programable stat. Intertherm and Coleman furnaces do the switching different than regular furnaces. They use the switching from heat to AC at the furnace with the rocker switch. They use the thermostat to either break the connection or make the connection. They use a heating only thermostat.... Also to answer Your question ...Yes the tstat wire goes into the furnace to make several connections then a seperate cable(brown) will follow Your freon lines out to the condensor.Also try removing the cover and have a good light. Get someone to turn on heat at tstat and watch for clicking sound.Sounds like You have a spark assist pilot system. When the sparking starts the pilot light should come on. Then once the pilot sensor feels the heat comming from pilot light it will allow the gas valve to come on...BE CAREFULL...I ASSUME NO RESPONSABILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS...alpharome416 PS.usually there is nothing to worry about just keep Your space to begin with ok.
There are 4 -steps for full run time to kick in a furnace.. step-1, inducer fan runs & prove thru the air tube which closes a switch and tell the circuit board to go to step-2, the igniter lights the pilot & prove its lit by heating the thermocouple, which tells the circuit board to go to step-3, opens the gas valve to dump gas in, which will light from the pilot light, and prove by a flame sensor metal stick on the last burner , which heats up and tell the circuit board Saying, ok , I've got flame.. step-4. when the box heats up, it closes a switch and turn on the main fan...! (Some gas-valves has a brain -or circuit board on top of them and are real sensetive to moisture..)
