This depends on how many available inputs you have on the back of the set. If you have more available you can just hook up the cable box composit (yellow, red, and white cables) if not you will need to replace the rf connector or tuner in the set. let me know if you need more help.

Does the JVC AV-56P776 have any kind of lock out on it went thru setup it plays dvd's but not regular tv

if plays DVDs via rear connections what have you got hooked to it for regular tv reception? Hooked to the coax fitting, using antenna or cable or sat with a box or not?

Good news is if it works with DVD set is likely ok and you have some other issue----just need some more information to decide what that issue is.

I have a rca scenium hdtv model d52w135d which has stopped working (a coupleof time I just wiggled the back and it came back up temporarily) We can watch dvds on it but can't get television. Is there life...

It sounds like the television source is bad since the DVD is working. If you are using a box, try using an A/V cable (output from box to input to TV). If already using cable replace it or or try another input. Like the one the DVD is using. If you are using coax replace coax cable.

Good Luck, Big Irish.

Connection problem

You can connect via a coax cable from the sat. box to VHF input of your TV and tune on ch 3 or 4 or connect via a RGB cable to component input of your TV or a regular Audio/Video composite cable will connect sat. receiver to your TV use yellow color for video and red&white for stereo Audio then choos the connected input on the menue and watch sat.

Yes there is a possibility that something shorted... remove the cable wire and unplug for 10 to 30 min and try plugging back in and restarting the set. otherwise the tuner probaly would need replaced. something any tv tech can do. AT the shop we replace these conectors al the time. just depends how bad the tuner is damaged.

My TV is fine...problem happen when I was moving today, not sure what its called but its the silver projection located on the back of the TV is which you connect the cable on the wall too...it broke...

Hook the cable up to the VCR or if you don't buy a RF converter from radio shack or electronics store which will have a coax connector on it with component and Svideo to send to the TV. Select the connection (Component or Svideo) in the TV menu. If you only have the coax connector on the back of the TV without any other connection, you will need to get that tuner board replaced.

I BROKE THE COAX CABLE THAT GOES INSIDE THE TV TO CONNECT TO CABLE

You can run the cable signal into your vcr, and then use composite cables from the vcr to your tv (red, white and yellow). You will have to use your VCR to change channels though.

I have a 57 in Sony rear projection..

Usually caused be a secondary device. If you guys have a cable box try this test. Unplug the coax cable from the back of the cable box. plug the coax cable from the wall directly to the TV and do a chennel scan. See if the probelm is still there. If it is TV needs service. If it is gone...it is your cable box. Call the cable company. If you have Satelite all you can do to test it is try another device and see if you have the same problem. A dvd player, VCR, game console etc. and see if the problem happends with that as well. If it does then the TV needs service.
