I am desperately trying to dwnld a trial version of Microsoft Word for my schooling, and am having a terribly frustrating time. I need help; I even have the product key that accompanies the version I wish to dwnld, but cannot locate Microsoft Word anywhere in my computer..

Microsoft really needs to find a solution to this problem because its a very common and frustrating occurrence, have him log straight in to his microsoft email account associated with the trial version of windows. (Dont login thru the prompting for renewal it never works damn microsoft for wasting our time with that method, I feel bad for the normal user because me as programmer had a hard time!!)
In your account you can see a list of programs or purchases (including trial versions) associated with your Microsoft account this includes hotmail,outlook, or whatever microsoft email you have and cancel the trial make sure you do this and always keep in mind that its important to do this especially with Microsoft office and its trial versions because their support people are clueless.
The best way to bypass all this is to create a new microsoft email account go to the prompt to try the trial version only DONT use the trial version purchase it and use the new email address as your login and then enjoy your windows program

Unless you completely wipe your hard drive and reload it, the previous trail version information will be in the Registry. This will cause the software to refuse to let you have a second trial period. If MS didn't do that, people would just keep loading trial offer after trial offer.

If you bought the laptop used it may have not come with the code. It may also because you may be using the train version on new laptops where you have to buy it separate.

Unfortunately, the trial version is just that: A free trial, and if you like it,you have to purchase it. Often the student version is available for sale for around $90 or so, but if you can't afford that right now, a good substitute is to download a very nice , free office suite from : www.openoffice.org

Not only is it legal and free, it is compatible with Microsoft Office.

You cannot use the trial prodct without activating.

You could always download and install Open Office which is compatible with Office. You can get it at:

www.openoffice.org

The only thing I can suggest is that the trial version was downloaded on a different site to the one you purchesed the key from. Or that the key is for a different version of the Office 2007 that you have downloaded as a trial. Have you contacted the site that issued you the key with this problem? If not it may be a good idea to do so, as they may be able to help you resolve this online.

It depends which trial version was downloaded. You can't reinstall the same trial download but they do have other trial downloads.

There is a student 2007, small business 2007, professional 2007 etc. versions. You can download each one of these if you have not already used these trial versions. They all offer the basics...Word, Excell, Powerpoint, Outlook with added software depending on what version you download.
