If its stretched from top to bottom your gonna need to go inside and find the verticale height control -and adjust it.

Everytime i put a picture for the background on the desktop it doesnt come out clear its all fuzzy/blurry anyone know what's happenin?

It's because your resolution(size) of your desktop is larger than the resolution(size) of the picture. If for example you are running a resolution of 1280x1024 then a picture with the dimentions of 1280x1024 would fit perfectly and not be stretched. See my tip on setting the desktop background here for further details:

If you want a smaller image to be centered and not stretched then right click on your desktop and go to Properties. Then click on the Desktop tab. To the middle right there is a heading that says Position. Click the little selection to Center. This will center a smaller image instead of making it all blurry and stretched.

Screen stretched out horizontally and distorting picture. None of the settings buttons appear to solve this. I can shift the image vertically or horizontally; but not squeeze it horizontally.

There are adjustments in the size of the items on a screen under the screen properties, settings. If you right click on the desktop screen and then properties you can get there. There is at least one size which causes a distortion of images being displayed. This may be your problem.

Acer P193W monitor stretched image

What service pack of windows xp are you running? Also, do you have your old monitor, if so, then plug it in and see if the same problem occurs. If not , go under the settings for your graphics card (not windows display options) and see if there can be a correction made to the settings for your monitor. Also, try going to and updating your computer (it's free) and you'll probably get the required driver to fix the problem from them. Check under your control panel and see if you have automatic updates turned on, if so you may want to limit what updates are to be installed by allowing updates but you choose which one's to install. Hope I could help. My e-mail .

Stretched Image

The problem is just the monitor settings. To reset the monitor, just press the Select button (+) and Adjust button ( - ) on your monitor at the same time.

Acer AL2216WBD LCD Monitor Problem

If your computer does not have a video card that supports the correct resolutions for the widescreen monitors, then your picture may get stretched. Much like watching normal tv programs on a an hd set. It will eitther strech or cut off the picture.
Try different settings in you computer display settings.

Acer X193W Monitor / screen image

Check your video card drivers are installed correctly.
If unsure, the reinstall them again, it won't hurt the system and there are probably new drivers out for it anyway.

Display appearing stretched

the original image size was probably recorded in 4:3 aspect ratio...meaning your widescreen is a 16:9 ratio size screen and is stretching it outwards to fill the whole screen. If you want the image to look normal.. ie. not short and fat people.... you need to change the picture size in the settings from widescreen 16:9 to normal 4:3 tv in the settings menu most likely...Also most remotes will/should have a button for that.
