Question about Hitachi 50UX57B 50" Rear Projection Television
Hi my tv just flicks the picture off and the sound stays on only for 3 seconds or so this happens at odd times. I like this tv and still has a great picture when its on LOL. Any answers would be great. What happen to tvs that last for 10 or more years?
Check the red wire & the seal boot on the "Flyback Transformer"...the wire may be loose & need to be shoved back tightly into the transformer...then seal it extra with black tape
be careful back there there are capasitors that still hold a charge even if tv is unpluged...if your clumsly you could get a bad jolt!
If that doesen't fix it; you may need to replace the "Flyback Transformer" itself...(about 8 or so sodder joints)
you will need to either pry the red wire out or cut it if there is enough extra...if you cut it you will need to strip the end & get a new barbed end for it at Radio Shack" of some other electronic outlet.
