Try this: on the handle there is a black clip that needs to be slid back away from the filter holder; filter basket should now fit (more or less); the markings for lining up the filter-handle into the brew-head slots are a little off; look up at the brew head, familiarize yourself with the location of the slots; line up the filter handle (make sure that black tap is still pulled back, or it won't go in). hope this helps!

How can I descale my coffee maker if no water coming through from resevoir?

The water reservoir could be clogged. Where are you located, If you are in the lime/rust belt and haven't descaled your brewer you may be in for a shock. Brewers in the "lime belt" need constant attention. If there is a clog or impediment in the inlet or outlet you may not readily get the delimer through it. You also need to check the outlet to the filter holder and see if there is a clog....Also be sure the heater is functioning so the water will "perk" and expand through the delivery tubing to the filter holder assembly.

What is a miele cva 2650 descaling funnel

The descaling funnel is a small, dull red insert that replaces the capsule holder and is used during the descaling cycle. I purchased a used CVA2650 that came without the funnel. I called Miele concierge service for help. They stock the descaling funnel and sell it for $15.95. In my case, they simply mailed one at no charge without me even asking. Great customer service!

When brewing with the X1, water starts leaking from the underside of the top where the brass filter holder connects to the machine. Tightening the 4 nuts did not help.

HI
More than likley its your brew head gasket that is leaking. Take off the 4 nuts you hust tighten and it exposes the brew head gasket. Make sure that you put the chrome piece on the same way you took it off. Clean the head good before you put the new gasket on or you could have trouble.
I would check ebay.

The bulb on top of my Melitta Java perk Model #MEP-10 Percolator is broken and I would like to purchase another if I can.

Go to the hardware store and buy a porcelain or stainless steel cabinet knob that will fit over the hole in the percolator top. Discard the screw that comes with the knob and replace it with a shorter (maybe 3/8") stainless steel version (shorter because the top of the percolator is a lot thinner than a cabinet). Then, buy a couple of neoprene washers and a stainless steel fender washer. Prepare the percolator top by using a hammer and a small piece of wood or something to flatten out the metal around where the old percolator top used to fit. Now you can start putting things together--slip the fender washer over the screw, then one of the neoprene washers and put it through the hole in the percolator top from the inside. Then slip the other neoprene washer over the protruding screw and screw the cabinet knob down, sandwiching the whole assembly nice and tight. Finally, tape a dollar to the old plastic percolator top and throw it away so you can say you've thrown away something.

Just bought machine. Filter holder is different from one described in booklet. It talks about the filter holder has been replaced by a spring systems that holds the filter in place. OK...so I got the big...

hi m.fleshman! in answer to your question, i paid $25 for mine used...it's like a $25 paperweight. hold the coffee grinds basket up to a light-can you see light thru just one hole, or all of the holes? if just one, this passed quality control at the factory & shouldn't have passed. i imagine that details like this are rampant on this machine. if i had bought mine at the store instead of 2nd hand, i'd take it back for a full refund! otherwise, it may be that someone put the wrong filter in the package. it's also possible that you may need to take out the spring (if it's removable) from the bottom of the filter holder-i don't know b/c i bought mine used. hope this helps!

Breville Die Cast 800ESXL

BrevilleUSA.com has a silicon seal (steam ring) to replace faulty or worn ones. There is no shipping charge, and they are $4 each. To replace the steam ring you'll need to remove the stainless spray disk on the brew head with a phillips screwdriver (one screw) and pull off the old ring (pay attention to the direction and placement of the stainless disk).  Takes about 2 minutes to do.
Part # .800ESXL/192

Also, on mine I noticed that the filter holder was ground down at the factory a bit too much on one side, which causes a slight leak down one side (coffee, not water).  You might check the holder (with the filter removed) for imperfections that could lead to your leak. Good luck.

Espresso

the filter has a little indent that must be placed correctly, if you put the filter in the holder and then rotate the filter you will feel it click into place when it is in the right position ( there is a gap for the indent at the front of the holder)
