Question about Frigidaire Dishwashers

1 Answer

Hello, I have a Frigidaire FDB510, after a few minutes of running water starts pouring out of the bottom of the door.I have replaced the wiper or sweep seal at the bottom of the door, the gasket does not seem to be bad, (it actually does not wrap around the bottom of the door anyway). Am I not draining correctly i.e. float, pump, etc. I sure could use some advice. Thanks

How do I clean dishwasher its starting to leave whiet spots on dishes

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand you want to know how to clean your Frigidaire dishwasher, model# PLD2560LCC, as it is starting to leave white spots on your dishes. Please follow these simple instructions:

1. Load your clean dishes and glasses in a normal manner. Do not load any metal utensils or silverware.
2. Do not add detergent.
3. Select the NORMAL WASH cycle. Close and latch door. Press START/CANCEL pad.
4. Allow your dishwasher to run until it starts the second water fill (approximately 10 minutes). The SENSING light will be off.
5. Unlatch and open the door and pour 2 cups of white vinegar into the bottom of your dishwasher.
6. Close and latch the door and allow cycle to finish.

Note: If these conditions persist, a home water softener should be considered.

I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Leaks

Hello Emmitt White - Try unplugging the dishwasher or flipping the household circuit breaker off first. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn the unit back on. If the issue persists, it could possibly be a few things: faulty door switch, drain pump or main control board. In that case, a certified technician would generally replace the faulty part after proper diagnosis.

Why does my frigidaire fdb510 run for 2 hours

Hello mrsdear77 - The cycle times all depend on the settings chosen. The hotter the water temperature, the longer the cycle. If you add any other features or a delayed start action, this will also make the unit run anywhere from 60-90+ minutes. What settings do you use the most?

My frigidaire dishwasher leaks from the bottom right of the door. It forms a puddle while running a load of dishes. Looks like the seal is gone underneath the door on the right side. Any idea how to...

One possible solution to your problem could be as follows... Could have been little regular soap or something put in that made it suds up causing it to leak out of the front and sometimes not to drain all water out. Pouring vegetable oil into the dish washer tub will remove the suds. After running vegetable oil for about 5 minutes, pour 2 cups of vinegar in to the tub and run it on the hottest longest cycle with no dishes in it. This will clean the residue out and what ever "gunk" may be in the internal parts. Use Only powder detergent. No gel and No tabs. These 2 cause a build-up over a period of time of use and reduce the performance of your machine. This should take care of your problem. Also could have a bad door seal. Check for any tares in the gasket.

Water leaking from inside door

the water line for the water disp runs in a chase that goes up thru the bottom hinge of the refrig door. SO DONT PULL YOUR DOOR APART! you can order a new water line thru frigidaire and replace the part by removing the water dispenser housing on the door and pulling the line thru the door then inst the new line in reverse. if it looks like too big a job then get a reputable company to inst it for you.

Drain in the freezer keeps freezing up and causes water to freeze up in the bottom of the freezer

If this is anything but a GE fridge then you can take a regular electrical wire and strip it of the plastic shielding. Next twist one end around the heater that runs under the evaporator above the drain hole. Make sure you have enough wire to extend it about 1-2in into the drain hole.
Now when it goes through a defrost cycle the heat traveling down the wire will keep the hole defrosted.
