Problem for JVC DRM10 DVD Recorder

Sound Interference

By Bladesman on Apr 10, 2006

I keep getting a terrible interefence on the sound through this unit. This will only clear by unplugging the unit, leaving for a few minutes and and plugging back in. This always clear the interferences but it always returns within a day or so.

The interference is worst when watching the TV through the DVD channel or trying to record on the unit but can also occur when watching pre-recorded discs.

I also suffered the loading problem on start up but this was repaired about a year ago.

Are the prioblems connected and how can I resolve?

NO it dosent sound like there related problems at all. Now you say you get interferance or is it more like a static noise only when using the dvd player??? If thats the case then you have an output device problem as its breaking down and crackling into your input to your sound amp or the tv. Its a problem that will need to be traced with a scope and a test disk. as it could be a D to a converter or an op amp IC, or even as simple as a filter cap. Good Luck

I am experienceing exactly the same problem. it started a few weeks ago, when a strong noise appeared while watching/recording TV through this JVC DR-M10SEF DVD recorder. Then last week I did experience my first flashing "loading" problems. It is going away when pressing during a while the "open" button. Now since yesterday the noise is occuring when playing DVDs and the only way to get rid of this problem is to unplug then replug the recorder (which leads to the loading problem) and then press "open" for a while!! What a wonderful human-machine-interface method!
I thought first that the problem was on the hardware, but now this looks like a software problem. Does anybody know if the firmware upgrade fixes such problems? In advance thank you for your feedback!
