My Peavy XR800F just had all its pots replaced and now iam getting very low output.. any ideas please ?

Output transistors or the preceding driver stages may be failing. Check for electrolytic capacitors for bulging tops, they will have to be replaced.

You remove the speaker grill cloth frame from the front of the amp. The entire frame is held on by velcro onn the corners of the face of the amp. Once off, there will be 8 philips head screws holding the speaker into the cabinet.

The SP5G Peavey Speakers are a good combination for the MP5 Plus?

Those speakers are capable of much more power than that little powered mixer can deliver - my 5G's are rated for 800 Watts program. I use a pv2600 to drive mine - at 8 ohms per side that's a good match. Depending on what your using the setup concern would be that a small amp like that could get turned up high enough that you'll be clipping - thereby sending nasty squared waves at the speakers - they won't like that much. If you want much volume - you should look at a bigger amp. If you're going very low key...those speakers are overkill.

Two things... Use BALANCED LINES, either XLR or TRS... AND power the mixer from the same receptacle or power conditioner as the speakers and the sub.

Caused speakers to smoke:(

If it's the speaker cabinet itself that';s smoking, you have most likely burnt some components in the passive crossover. Pull it out and you may see melted parts or scorching on the circuit board. Peavy does repairs on it's own products pretty reasonably if there's no local tech. Call Peavey Customer Srervice at 877-732-8391.

I need replacement 8" drivers for my Peavey PRM 308S Monitors. What would you recommend?

You have to use original manufacture parts if you want the orignal sound and specs. The crossovers and design of the speaker enclosure is matched for the speaker drivers. Start at the link below.
