I have the Kenmore sewing machine #16231. When I was sewing the bobbin holder popped out and a bunch of thread bunched together and wrapped around the bobbin and caused bunching of thread on my fabric just on the bottom. I placed the bobbin holder back in but every time I get it threaded it does the same thing. It keeps bunching and wrapping around the bobbin. Why is this and why does the bobbing holder keep popping out?

Bunching of thread is 99% a top tension problem. Make sure you thread the top thread correctly. Thread the machine with the presser lever up. Test the tension by lowering the presser lever before threading the eye of the needle, by pulling the thread with your left hand and adjusting the tension with your right hand while slowly pulling downwards. There should be no resistance when the tension dial is on zero, and you should be able to feel more resistance when you increase the tension. Ideal tension is between 3 and 5. When your top tension is correct, your machine should operate correctly. If you feel no resistance with the presser foot down and the tension dial on 5, check the tension disks for fluff or broken thread. When you lift the presser foot, the tension disks should open and you would be able to remove any cotton or fluff. Good Luck

My Janome 8050 bobbin case is jumping out of place. The thread is wrapping around the bobbin case and getting stuck, bunching up, and shutting down my sewing progress. It ties the needle up.

check for the retainer action of the bobbin case to see in there is a part broken off that holds the bobbin in the case or carrier
from what you describe , with the thread bunching up etc, I suspect that the needle thread tension is too loose and causing the problems
if so then the bunching and problems can be from the bunched thread pushing the bobbin out of position
take it in for a service and if necessary , repair

Bottom tread bunching up

Check the bobbin tension and that the thread is tight around the bobbin. Make sure that the bobbin is in the right way around - the bobbin thread should double back on itself coming out of the bobbin holder.

Grab the wheel and now it will not sew think i striped the gear should have just let it break the needle does it need to be sent in to be repaired

Frist look to see if you have thread bunched up in the bobin area, if so then you just didn't have the thread seated between top tension disc

Everytime I start to sew the thread bunches up on the material

Check that your top tension is set on five and that no fluff is stuck between your tension plates.

Your bottom tension could be to loose maybe?

Thread jamming up around the bobbin

Sounds like your bobbin wasn't wound tight enough. Try winding another bobbin and see if that helps

Sewing machine model 17828490 kenmore

This really sounds like it is a simple top threading problem. Please check your threading path at the take-up lever #3 of the 4 steps. If the thread comes out of the take-up lever or it was missed during threading, the machine does not receive any top tension. No top tension means that the machine is being flooded with thread and wrapping around the shuttle hook.... jamming up.
If your machine is currently threaded, leave it threaded follow the thread from the spool through the first thread guide at #1 straight down to #2 and up to #3 (make sure that the thread is through the take-up lever (silver hook) at #3 from three you will bring the thread straight down to the thread guide that is to the left of the needle. Thread the needle from front to back.
I know this sounds too simplistic but it happens to even professional sewers.
Hope this resolves the issue you are having, feel free to contact me any time.
Thank you

Bobbin thread bunching

I have a Singer 2950. The thread keeps getting bunched up on the reserve side of the fabric, and does not stitch. It is driving me crazy. I think I have the bobbin threaded correctly, as well as the machine. I have tried everything! Please help!
