Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

Voicemail and Txt alert sounds

Verizon Razr V3 beeps once for missed call, then again repeatedly for Voicemail. Also beeps for received Txt Msgs. I have tried to turn these alert sounds off myself, nothing changes. Stopped by a Verizon retail store, had them do it, still nothing changes. Here is what I have tried, any advice would be helpful before I throw this Razr out of my moving car...
1. Settings & Tools > Sounds Settings > Alert Sounds > Voicemail Msg > Tone > No Ring >OK
2. Settings & Tools > Sounds Settings > Alert Sounds > Voicemail Msg > Reminder > Off > OK

Then you will need to have the firmware reflash or take it to the store and hvae them explain why it is still doing that.....the phone firmware may need fixing.
