The EC1 error code means "Incorrect Printhead". Try to follow the steps below to identify and fix the issue:

1. Make sure the printer is on.

2. Open the printer cover. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-in-One is busy.

3. Remove both cartridges from the carrier.

4. Close the printer cover.

5. Rebrick (pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds).

6. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first.

7. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.

8. If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.

9. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear with a new cartridge.

The error indicates that the printhead ID is not valid. Make sure you are inserting only genuine Lexmark cartridges. Please follow the steps below to fix the problem:

3. Remove both cartridges from the carrier.

7. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.
8. If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.
9. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear with a new cartridge.

I have a lexmark x2695 and when I turn on the printer appear a flashing error "1 E C"

The EC1 error code indicates that the printhead ID is not valid. Open the printer cover and remove both your cartridges. Close the cover. Unplug and replug your printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first and close the cover. Check for any errors. If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear. You may also try to insert a different known working cartridge to determine if the other is faulty.

Unable to print from lexmark x2690. printer is giving the error E C 1 on display.

EC1 error message indicates that your printer having trouble recognizing one of your cartridges. You could try to re-seat the cartridges in the printer. Remove and reinsert both cartridges. You may also wipe the cartridge nozzles with a damp paper towel to clean it from dirts and clogs. If error continues, check w/c cartridge is causing the error. Insert one cartridge first, then close the cover. If no error appears, then insert the other cartridge. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear.

900 RIP errors are errors in the Engine Code. There is an EC1 file available at: http://support.lexmark.com/perl/support/support.cgi.

Download and install the file by following the link on the above page, first error discription.

Error on newly installed printer.

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
