It is either the bulb, a fault on one of the internal boards, or the light engine.

I cannot find any Mitsubishi "VS 5407" in the model list , is this a projector, a dlp tv?
Post the correct model number, so that we can keep troubleshooting.

Mitsubihsi VS-5407 it is not an existing model number.
The person that posted that lens comment does not seem to have a clue.
If this is a projector, and you get no picture at all, it is likely that you need to replace the lamp
There is an internal lamp that you can replace. the lamp costs from $100+ to $600 depending on the model.
If there is no picture can also be a problem on one of the internal boards, in this case you will need a technician.
Calling a technician is always a good choice, as you do not risk to waste money on expensive parts, you do not risk to damage the unit, and to a certain extent you have a guaranty that the fault will be professionally fixed.
A repair call in starts at $80, if there is no part to replace.
If you need to call a technician you can ring the phone number listed on the TV owner manual.

    Regards

    The lamp is over $400.

The lamp is not too difficult to replace, but due to the part cost it is better calling a technician to ensure it is the lamp before replacing it.

Got a Mitsubishi vs-8070, everything works fine then the screen turns off after about 15 minutes sound still works fine. Help.

Does this unit have a projection bulb in the back end of the set? Just based on my experience with a friend's 65 inch rear projection TV, there might be an indicator light on the front panel that may blink if the rear projection bulb is failing. If there is a failing bulb it could account for the screen going black with everything else just fine, after the bulb gets heated up in 15 minutes.

Has sound but shows no picture

These types of TVs eventually need to have the bulb replaced. There should be an access door marked on it somewhere. Google your tv brand and model to find a replacement bulb.

Unfortunately lamps go bad without the visible state of being bad. I don't know who or where you bought the lamp from but I order all my lamps through dlplamps.com
The clicking sound you hear is the lamp inverter igniteing the lamp but the lamp is bad.

Mitsubishi WD-62531 Replaced lamp 2 weeks ago. Red light flashing again. Same problem but the lamp is fine. Sound but no picture.

You have either a bad ballast (it powers the lamp) or a bad DMD board. Either one of those will result in a no lamp fire issue. Have a technician look at it...

VS-5042 Sound but no picture

It is not bulb, are you talking about the tube ? At the neck of the tube you will see some connections.Carefully abserve if any cracks on the solderings(we call them DRY SOLDER), then connect them with soldering iron. Always make sure you have disconnected the TV from the mains. If the problem still persists, you will need to reffer to a qualified and Experienced person. He need to look for the LOT section(Auxiary power supply), video amplifier, CRT sections.

TV has sound but no picture

Everything is worth fixing provided the price is right.  However, in this case it's probably not cost effective to repair the unit.  Start with the easier fixes, such as bulbs, etc.  Even then, some of the components can be quite expensive, or simply unavailable.  I would suggest getting a quote from a local repair shop in order to make an informed decision before you get to far into it.  You could end up spending just as much to repair it as you would on a new unit.
