Since I installed the colour cartriges the printer only prints inblack and it is not a complete print. Any ideas please? Many thanks

I just got this printer, & don't have an instruction book, I don't know how to change the ink cartidges. How do you get the thing to stop so you can replace them without damaging the printer?

Black Cartrige Missing

Did you use a brandname ink cartridge - or is it a knock-off brand? If it is a brand name - then the cartridge is most likely defective. If it is a knock-off brand - some printers do not recognize the electronic in the cartridge and therefore don't see it as one being installed.

My Lexmark printer 1270 only prints in black and white although the colour cartriges have good ink levals. This has just started happening, it was happily printing in colour not long ago. Many thanks.

Jast go to print option. Then Mantainance. Then try to print a nozzale. If all the colour comes out properly ( with out dot or misline), your cartrige head is goog for print. If not, your printer cartrige head is block. To reque from the problem follow the proces:
1. Unpluge colour cartrige.
2. Try to clean the cartrige head with soft cloth and amonia gentaly.
3. Try to out the ink through the head nozzale pore by using shaking or gentaly swape by soft tissue.
4. Now put the cratrige head upon a soft tissue. ( ink will comes out). If not, repit stage 1-4 until ink come out.
Thank you

Attempted to change the colour cartridge but a message says "Parts inside your printer require maintenance or replacement. Contact your dealer."

I would suggest you to just cleanup the printer. For this follow the steps as under
1 open lid to expose cartridge area
2 push power button to power off
3 allow printer to shut down- cartriges will park on the left side.
4 look for any ink residue under where the cartridges normally are.If yes gently try to clean it up.You may also use screwdriver then several paper towells and iso alcohol. Under the cartrige area is a black plastic tray which can slide forward. Clean under that as well.Similarly follow with colour carridges.
5 close lid and power up and it now .It should work.

You may also try to hold the restart button of your printer for 1 minute just the way you push it to turn it on.
I hope it works, please let me know your responce.

How do i change my lexmark x4650 print cartrige?

Installing/Replacing your ink cartridges:
1. Open the printer, and then press down on the cartridge carrier levers. printmastert_52.jpg

2. Remove the used print cartridge or cartridges. 3. If you are installing new print cartridges, remove the tape from the back and bottom of the color cartridge, insert the cartridge in the right carrier, and then close the color cartridge carrier lid. 4. If a black cartridge is included in the box contents, remove the tape from the back and bottom of the black cartridge, insert the cartridge in the left carrier, and then close the black cartridge carrier lid. 5. Close the printer.

Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Follow the steps below:

1. Unplug the printer from the power source.

2. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip that connects from the carrier assembly to the ink cartridge carrier and gently slide the cartridge carrier to the center of the printer.

3. Remove the used cartridges.

4. Load the new cartridges. Close the cover.

5. Plug the printer back to the power source.

When I try to change my ink cartriges the carriage will not move

With the lid open, you will see the two arms that stick out of the lid, and go into the body of the printer, they are black. and on the far left and right of each side of the lid. They have Teeth on them like a saw. When the lid is closed, these go down into the printer, and hit a little micro button on the back of the printer. When this button is pressed, the printer knows that the lid is closed. I am guessing that this button has gone bad, so the printer does not know you have opened the lid, and therefore it does not move the print cartridges into the parked posistion.
