There are many things that can cause this problem you would need someone who can use a meter and troubleshoot to find the definite cause but the 2 most common are the Convergence circuit and the Z801 module in the power supply. These can both run you $300-$500 if a repair man were to fix it.

The TV is going into protective shutdown which can be many different items. But the most likliest by far would be the deflection board causing the issue. You can get replacement parts for that model from www.tvcircuitboards.com

When you plug it in to power source. power button lights up and blinks intermediately

You need a new projector bulb. Google up your model and buy the best warranteed one you can find. Buy a "caged assembly" and not just a bare bulb.

Then unplug your tv and get a screwdriver. Follow your model's instructions and just snug down the electrical screws. Do not overtighten them.

Then consult your manual on how to reset the lamp timer so it knows you put a new bulb in and fires up from the first try.

Treat yourself because you've just saved yourself a trip from a repairman!!

Will not power up. Red power light only blinks.

If you have sound and no picture, it's time for a new lamp.

In the manual check under LED indication, It explains the blinking lights, unless your outside at night looking up!

Redslight blinking have no picture

Have you replaced the lamp before? If not, I recommend you do it, since it may be what's causing this. There is power on the TV since you get the blinking light, so it's most probable the lamp.

Power indicator blinks; but no picture.

Likely to be the STK convergence chips causing a protection circuit to cut in and switch the TV off when turned on. Do you hear clicking when you switch on?

Toshiba TZ43V61 43 in. Rear Projection... Problem

Try unplugging unit for 5 minutes, then plug in and turn on. If this works, your power supply may be going. However it is more likely that the bulb is gone, you can replace it yourself, but make sure you get the right bulb for that unit and take care in the installation of it.Go to the manufacturers website and look up your model and find out how to inspect and remove the bulb.
Bulbs can run for 140 to $300 and can be found on EBAY

Toshiab tz43v61 power light blinking

I had the same thing happen to me 3 times and the first time it was 2 months off of warranty. It is costing me $395.00 each time, the TV is only 7 years old. Lets see I paid $2400.00 for the TV and also have another $1185.00 into it for repairs, and it is doing the same thing again. My suggestion would be NEVER buy another Toshiba product. I find it interesting that their website says "As a proven technology leader, Toshiba is committed to the goal of ensuring that, to every customer, the Toshiba name remains synonymous with lasting quality, durability, and value." WHAT A LOAD OF ****!!!
