Can I block certain incoming numbers

if its doing this with only certain senders it is possible the sender is scrambling their fax number. If so look in setup menu or tools and patiently study the settings.

This in not achievable on the printer itself. You would need to contact your telephone company. Continuous calls can be considered harassment and most companies have a system in place to deal with this.
The other option is to call the number and ask them to stop calling your number as you would rather not hear from them.

the question is not clear whether u want to block an out going number or incoming number.
i take that as blocking an incoming number:
u have to call ur network operator and ask them to block certain number. this is the only possible way.

Wow, That sux , and I mean it.Fax "spam" is difficult to deal with, and has been an increasing problem.Typically tho, its just an AMWAY fax or a free trip to Panama, discount tanning bed etc... . This is a fax bomb and someone is actually breaking federal law BIG TIME. They have (for whatever reason) dedicated significant resources on their end to do this. There are major hurdles and differences between NETWORK traffic, where you can select the IP addresses that you wish to allow or exclude, and phone traffic.It's just like if someone decided to hit redial aimed at your personal phone.Fax traffic cannot really be tracked at the end user level other that running an activity report, establishing that a specific number is harassing you and calling the phone company or whomever provides your phone service.Then you have to file a complaint thru this provider who will contact the FCC.The copier/ fax only knows to accept the incoming call. Lets look at it this way.If it was your home phone you could pay for services that could block a certain phone number perhaps but I bet your fax line does not have caller ID, call block, etc.If I were you I would disconnect the phone line from the copier briefly. Then locate the system monitor block at the bottom of your display and press it. Locate the fax tab at the top and press it.Select print list and it will tell you all the activity both incoming and outgoing, with phone numbers ,times etc. Determine the number that is wearing you out and call your phone provider.They won't think this is funny especially as you will have a report that lists all the activity. Again this is a federal crime and they will actually send Marshall's to the location, rip out their communication **** and possibly arrest them on the spot.I hope I have made sense here as I am livid that someone would do this. Now since you have already indicated that you know how to delete these faxes, and it has taken you hours, You should ACTUALLY be able to highlight as many "**** faxes" as you wish as you go down the screen, and just check them off and at the end say "delete". I guess my bottom line is, No the device does not have the capability on its own to differentiate phone numbers. You need to get law enforcement involved. And you should be able to get rid of those faxes in mass. This is truly jeopardizing your device and your business as it is tieing up memory and processing capabilities and can bring the device to a screeching halt. If you receive a legal-size fax and the device is not currently set to use legal-size paper, the device reduces the fax so that it fits on the paper that is loaded. If you have disabled the Automatic Reduction feature, the device prints the fax on two pages.

Rita Lee, I can't find my manual for this model but what I would suggest is turning off the "auto receive'" function. This is what I found online.
Depending on what (FX,AU,TM.TL) is displayed on the right hand side. Use the Ans.Mode/Contrast button to change that to TL is displayed.

The fax will not accept incoming faxes but you might also have a problem with the actual line being busy.

Faxes fail intermittently or with only one fax number

• If static is present on the phone line, fax communication may fail. Have the phone line checked and serviced by the telephone company (or have the other party check their line). Phone line quality is the most common reason for intermittent fax failures. Some older locations and buildings have inadequate phone system wiring.
• If you are trying to send a color fax and it fails, try sending the same machine a black and white fax. Normally the fax will detect that the other fax is not color capable and will offer you the option to send the fax as black and white but this might not always be the case. Do not send color faxes unless you know the other fax machine is capable of receiving color faxes.
• Check the phone cable from the wall jack to the fax. It should not be coiled or longer than necessary. Coiling the cable can cause cross talk or echo on the line. Signal strength and quality can be lost with long cables.
• Make sure the phone cable routing (and any cables not plugged into the same jack but sharing the same line) is not near any electrical appliances (electric motors, fans, kitchen appliances, or televisions). Many of these devices do not have sufficient electrical shielding and can induce electro-magnetic force (EMF) onto the phone line. Computers are usually shielded sufficiently and do not cause this problem.
• Do not use a call-waiting service on the same line connected to the fax machine. The click sound caused by an incoming call can cause the fax to fail.
• You can block certain faxes on some models. Verify that the telephone number of the sending fax is not blocked in the faxing software. This is usually located in the Fax History.
