Some external storage devices work poorly or not at all when connected to a hub; try connecting the drive directly to a port on the computer. Also check if it's detected in "Disk Management". Here you can verify if the partition and format are correct for the Operating System. Check the Drive's status in Device manager. This will verify if the external drive has a drive letter designation. Check Partition and Format. Log in as Administrator account in windows or any other account with administrative privileges Insert your removable disk into the USB port. Click Start, right click on computer and select manage. Now, click Disk Management. Check whether drive letter for the device is present. Check the lower window to find whether the device is detected (such as Disk 1, Disk 2, etc). If the device is detected with a drive letter, verify that no other device is using that drive letter. If it is, change it to unused drive letter. Hope this helps.
It's not showing you even have a hard drive to boot to. If your sure you have a hard drive it may need to be reseated. There is either a cover underneath the laptop or a slide out tray on the side. Unscrew the cover/tray and pull out the hard drive then just put it back in and try to start it. Hope this helps. If not u probably have a dead hard drive. But the computer is still good.
First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

Open your laptop and and fix the hard disk cable. After this start laptop and check the bios if HDD detected then select boot device and select first boot device is Hard disk.Save the setting and restart the window. You are able to open your window.
If Hard disk drive is not detected change data cable, power cable of Hard disk.If hard disk is detected in bios follow upper rules.
if it is not detected again you should walk into Hard disk repairing center and check hard disk there.
This error message- "No bootable device. Insert boot disk and press any key" means -
The PC cannot see a boot file/disk on either the hard
disk or floppy drive.
Check the floppy drive and remove and floppy disk.
If there was no disk in the floppy drive then it is a hard disk problem.
Check the BIOS to see if the hard disk is detected, if not open the case and
re-seat the data cable on the hard drive and also where it connects to the
motherboard disk controller.
If it still gives this error message and the BIOS does not detect the hard
drive, then the hard drive is probably faulty.
A further check on the hard drive, remove the hard drive and connect it to an
USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port, if this
computer does not detect it as an external storage device then the hard drive
To get the computer working again, install a new hard drive in your computer
and then install Windows on the new hard drive plus the computer's device
drivers and your programs.
This error means the operating system on the hard disk couldn't load due to possible faulty hard drive or disk controller. The fault could also mean the hard drive needs reseating to make proper connection. Reseat the hard drive and if you still get this error, then you need to determine if the disk controller is faulty. To do this, remove the hard drive and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter and plug it into a working computer's USB port. If this computer see this hard drive as an external drive and you can also see the contents of the drive, then the hard drive is OK and the fault is a faulty disk controller. If the computer cannot detect the hard drive then the hard drive is faulty. Then get a new hard drive insert it into youe laptop and install Windows to get your laptop operatioal.
